Keeping with my yearly tradtion of doing an all day ride on the Sunday before Memorial day. Got kind of hot out. But I found a way to beat the heat and get the bike washed at the same time. .
You know, that reminds me of a time where I wanted to take the group across this
And the only response I got was this
Bunch of losers with no sense of adventure.

I'm riding to Frederick tomorrow am, probably departing around 8 am. Could meet at the Temple and take 15. Let me know if you'd like to tag along. . ..

Blah.......
I am thinking of selling #4, the '08 K1200GT.
It is a good bike, but it is 630 lbs of good bike. It is the Dancing Hippo, but under 5 mph it is a pig.
It is excellent on long distance rides. Which I don't seem to be going on anymore.
Blah......

Going to replace it with an RT, which is much less of a pig at low speeds?

No, I think I am over the need for another bike. 130 mile ride, including a visit to the Duc Pond and I am OK. BTW, Duc Pond expanded -- they are leasing the building next to them (used to be a bank) and using it as a customer lounge. Lots of pretty bikes, too.

Happy father day to all the dads. Getting presents from the youngins is pretty cool! Mine is out of town.
I lounged around the house most of the day. Then got mad at myself for not going for a ride being as it was fathers day and all - So I tossed on my gear and headed to the little resturant at the base of Spruce Knob WV for dinner. Afterwards I rode on up to the summit. Nice ride home in the dark through the WV twistys in the rain. It was charactor building.

You're welcome!
It's funny. I have gone by that resturant and the road up to the summit countless times yet somehow always managed to have something else on the agenda when I was in the area. Making it THE destination was the only way to make it happen for me. Glad I did it, will do it again - sans rain hopefully.

I only saw 102 deg. on my drive. No riding for me in those conditions.
Talking about being only a wannabe sport-tourer, I need to get a ride in on Sunday morning. I made a few adjustments to the K1200GT and then I went for a test ride this morning. The bike is a '08 with less then 14,000 miles on it. I must get over 14,000 miles. So a 200 mile ride would put me clearly over that level
Leave at 8:00 AM, return around noon? Destination? This will be a sedate ride: No triple digits on the speedo, no gravel roads. I don't have a GPS unit so I can't get us lost.
