Hey SmugMug users: I've created a Photo Community called SportTouringNet. Please share your wealth of pictures!

For those who haven't had the pleasure of using SmugMug, it's been my favorite picture-sharing site. It's different than Flickr, in that it's much better for archiving thousands and thousands of pictures in a logical fashion, and that there're tools available to, say, mount the whole gallery as a filesystem on your PC or Mac. And they back all their pictures up to multiple locations, so no single disk failure will lose data.

Another plus: they're not (yet) owned by a big corporation.

I will share mine to the Smugmug group today as soon as I can figure out how.  That was easy.

FWIW, Smugmug is owned by the same person that owns ADVrider.  As far as I know there is absolutely no intention of selling it off as it really caters to the MC community.  Customer service is excellent, as well.

I just set up a smugmug for some supermoto and mini racing I've been shooting. I'll see if I can figure out how to join the STN group there and get some good WCRM pics too.

I've added a gallery of shots I took at the 2008 Australian Moto GP to the SmugMug community.

The first few shots are from a group run to the Island from just out of Melbourne and the rest are from Saturday practice and race day.

Baldy's love for motorcycling lead him in search of a place to share stories and pix, found nothing suitable and created ADVrider - but then needed a good place to host the images, which lead him to create SmugMug. He's a great guy.

I also just joined the Flickr group (none of my bike pictures are on my SM site).
