I've created a Photo Community called SportTouringNet. Please share your wealth of pictures!

There's no "free" option, and it costs $40/year.

Maybe I've missed something, but can you explain how someone would post pics if they don't have a SmugMug account in the first place.

Creating a "Community" doesn't cost anything; I just created one myself.

They can't, they need a smugmug account.  There's no way to get a free smugmug account, they all cost money (though it's a damn good deal).  Flickr is free for a basic account.
