Yer a little late  Wink

I posted here a couple weeks ago - www.bighammer.net/ireland.html

The folks at Motorental were top notch.  The only down side was I can get a Guiness cheaper here in the States!   Razz

Yep, the backroads are still the same albeit with a lot less potholes. Actually Rockwell is not far from me (some of my nephews attended also), about 60km. So, let me know if your coming an I'll put the kettle on. Bigok

Don't tempt me. You weren't allowed off the grounds and even if we were, we were too young for the pubs. So other than the views from the college grounds, Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Shannon, I didn't see all that much of Ireland. Are they still using coarse pavement...terrific grip.

The college has changed quite a bit. I heard they got a big indoor pool some time ago. I can still walk the halls in my mind even though its been 37 years.

One day, with plenty of Gravol for the ferry ride over.

Ireland is stunning. Nice to have you with us. However, Ant is best placed on ignore straightaway. He's English and very, very troublesome.  Lol

Oi, less of that. Give me chance to make a bad impression myself you git Razz
Ireland is on my to visit list, right along with Scandinavia (next summer), Iceland (probably the summer after) and big chunks of Europe, and then America (as in the continent, not just the US)... Sigh, if I had the guts to just leave my job and sell my house I'd spend the rest of my life travelling  Inlove Never mind, plenty of time yet. Not planning on dying for at LEAST another 10 years - 33 is a good age right?

I don't want  to go into detail about my crossing from Hollyhead to Dun Laoghaire . 34 years on the memories are too cruel. Suffice it to say for the return I spotted the shortest route back and travelled to Larne through Newry and Belfast at a time of not insignificant political " troubles " to shorten my journey.

Of course any time in Ireland justifies whatever it takes to get there.

Our B&B landlady even asked if I had any Irish in me.

I fondly remember checking into a B&B and the landlady ( start Irish accent here, with a pleasant lilt ) saying,
" And you look like you have....{ upon gazing down at my name in my passport }.....I'm supposing not." (end accent).
