As usual, awesome pictures. I enjoyed reading your full report and am most jealous of your great fortune to have made such a trip.
Glad to hear the Griso worked so well for you, as I have an ongoing lust-affair with that bike.
Glad to hear they have such good bacon there, too.

Fantastic report of, dare I say, Orsonian proportions.
Really enjoyed the photos and the detailed descriptions of the museums and War Memorial in Canberra. I've read reports of Tasmania from locals but never from a foreign perspective. I learned more about Tasmania in this report than any other. Just fascinating. And I loved the pictures of the dogs.
I've always enjoyed your Ghost towns of Kansas reports. Hope to see more of those soon, too.

You insist on taunting me
Good stuff, mate
I was a bit indifferent about the Griso when it was first introduced, but its looks are starting to grow on me

Daniel, I really enjoyed your report and excellent pics. Saw my place of work (Geelong waterfront) and the church I was married in (Warrnambool) amongst the pics.
I was impressed that you covered quite a bit of distance in a short period of time, yet still took the time out to look around and see the detail of what various regions had to offer.
What an incredible archive of your motorcycle travels your website is - congratulations on a fine achievement.
Jules.

Thanks for this report Daniel.
I'm from Tasmania and learn't to ride a bike there.
I live in Queensland now and haven't been back to Tassy for 25 years.
Your report brought back lots of memories and I wish I could find the time to to take the Blackbird on a nostalgic trip through all those roads and towns you showed so well in your report.
Very enjoyable report.

Well done Daniel
I'm from Australia as well, and I have ridden all the roads you travelled on your trip (but as parts of many different journeys). For those in the ST-Net community Daniel has captured the essence of touring Oz Style well. As a professional photographer I would also say he has captured the essence of Oz in early spring equally well...
Its a shame you couldn't have shifted your trip till a month later, more of the roads you travelled on would have been dry. Perversely its also a shame you couldn't come 2 weeks earlier, as you would have made it to Phillip Island to see Casey Stoner win his first home MotoGP race. Then the totality of the Oz motorcycle experience would have been on your table.

Excellent ride report.
I am also very much enjoying reading your other tours.
It was unfortunate you would have experienced some slightly unseasonal cold/wet weather on your tour down under. I was on tour at the same time and on some of the same roads as you and it was a little chilly (for that time of the year) with a cold weather front that blew in from the south.
thanks again.

What took me so long to find this report? As usual Daniel, an excellent report with drool worthy pictures.
I like those pipes on the Griso much better than the stocker. What a fantastic looking machine.
