A don't know; suggest a day and time; yes I'd like to ride up w/ any SW Michigan people (that's why I stuck my location in the post).  Any GPS file yet, or other details.  Since I'm late to post I would appreciate any info that I can get to plan this trip.

I just got back from a weekend Northport trip w/ the RIDE.com group (see our website).  It was very cold (had to be 40 degrees) Sunday morning, but enjoyed the twisties and views alot.

Mark

PM me if you want.

EDIT: I just saw the Friday comment; if it's Friday late afternoon there's a chance, otherwise I have to work and I'll be going up later (Saturday?).

I need a spot to camp; no chance for State campgrounds (I hate e'm anyway).  Forest, is there lawn space to camp anywhere?  Even the forest campgrounds may fill up.  Anyone camping!!!!!!!!!!!! pls chime in.

I sent you a pvt. message.  It's 90 minutes to GR to my place (Tustin area, just South of Cadillac).  It's about another hour N/NW to TC.  Not sure what hours you work, but you're welcome to stop here first and then we can ride up to North Peak so long as you're here by 7-7:15 P.M. or so...

Oh, and I take this for granted, but on the way up to Cadillac, I pass the highest point in the lower peninsula (about 4 miles from the house) and there are a couple sweepers and a few curves between here and the exit ramp to the 131 Cadillac Bypass.  Bigsmile  Thumbsup

Sparky - What time does the boat get in?

Dekruyter - When are you planning on leaving?

Are you guys interested in meeting between GR and Muskegon for a ride up together on Friday?

Rob,

The boat arrives at 9:30am. Where do you want to meet up? Do you have a route in mind?

What time and where is the meeting for the Saturday ride?  I need to see if I have enough time to ride up Saturday morning.  If not, I'll stay at Cycle-Moore Friday night, or, meet you mid-trip somewhere on Saturday, then stay Saturday night at Cycle-Moore, and attend Sunday's ride too.

Good morning Sparky,

I could meet you at the boat dock on Friday. I'll be easy to spot (Hi-Vis 'Stich). My route is pretty loose right now, but there are both coastal and inland routes that offer decent scenery. One of my favorites would include M37 from Newaygo North through the Manistee National Forest. They'll be plenty of ride time available to get up there. Send me a PM with your email and I can send some suggested routes over on map files. Do you use GPS?

Thanks man;

looks like I'll try to ride up, and probably stay at a forest campground, Friday night.  Then stay at camp-moore Saturday night.  Who, if anyone, is staying at Camp-Moore Saturday night?

Well, work sucks.   I pm'd Forester with the possibility of me being a no show a while back.  It's now confirmed after I got to my new store yesterday.  One of the other associates had asked for Memorial Day weekend off long ago and I get to work all three days. Mad2 Shrug  Y'all have fun and take lots of pics.  I'll be there in spirit.  All the roads you will ride will be nice and the owners at Cycle-Moore will treat you like long lost friends.  I was actually hoping to have ONE of the days off and make a quick run up for a cuppa joe and some fun.

Chances are that I am out also. Work conditions have not improved and my new tire I got a couple weeks ago is already worn out. Who knows, I may just show up anyways.

Sadly, I am with Basco.
I will not be able to attend the party this time.
My new rear tire is about gone from our little Sparta trip.
Also, my body is about all done as well, also from the Sparta trip.

You all have a great time!

I'm camping at http://www.cycle-moore.com/, it was mentioned on the first page. I checked a couple weeks ago and they said don't bother with reservations this early in the year, they will have plenty of space.

Ok, sounds good to me!  I'll be staying Saturday and Sunday nights only, arriving late Saturday probably (I work 2nd shift, so I get off work around 2am Saturday morning).  See you all there - I'll be on a big fat white Pacific Coast, so don't mind me if I dawdle a little in the fast sections.

Sunday's route loop is completed.  Approximately 308 miles for Sunday.  GARMIN GPS route information is currently available in a .mps (Garmin Mapsource format) file via e-mail only for those attending the ride. Bigsmile  Those miles have been limited to include as many sweepers and twisties as possible.  Both the technicality and views progress heavily (and intermittently)throughout the ride .  I even excluded an area with some decent high speed sweepers because it did not meet my standards of "fun".

Saturday's route should be just as lovely (maybe better?  Headscratch ).  I'll have it completed shortly.

i emailed you but did get a reply on the routes
if you can shoot me them i can load and go thanks

Looks like a buddy and I from Grand Rapids are finalizing plans:

We plan to stay in a Manistee National Forest or Township park campground Friday night (Drift Wood, Seaton Creek, Whitewater Township Park, etc.), then meet the group between 8 and 10 AM at the meeting spot Saturday, then staying at Cycle-Moores Saturday night, then joining the group again Sunday.

If anyone wants, we can switch campgrounds to be w/ others that are camping if we knew something definitive, else we'll just stick to our plan.

Chime in if you want to camp with us, or if we should join you.
