Anyone around here have a 1250 with the new factory hardbags (givi v35's)?  Im in Tucson, and am trying to see how they fit on my SV1000s and none of the dealers in Tucson or Phoenix seem to have any of the hardbags in stock. To sweeten the deal I'll buy you a beer/dinner if you let me hold up one of your bags to my bike for a just a few minutes to see if it would even fit on my bike.

My problem is they don't make a v35 kit for the SV1000s so I am tring see if the bags will fit first before I try and peice a kit together.

Thanks guys,
Ryan

rharr:

As I understand with the V-35's, they are just in the process of making the racks for different models. If I were you I would contact Givi, as they are probably working on mounts as we speak.

In fact they took quite a while to finish the kit for the 1250.

only trouble is that the sv1000 has been discontinued.  Fortunately, the sv650 would mount the same, and they still make those.  I would be very interested in those bags also, I really like how that tuck in closer to the bike.  The only downside is the pricetag, but if they came out with a well fitting kit for the SV, I may be tempted.

Hi Ryan welcome to the site. Please refer to the above answers as I used to eat paint flakes as a kid and can not answer with any intelligence.

yeah thanks guys, i have been wait for a while now for the kit, at least a year, but i highly doubt they will make one for the bike or even the 650.  Plus i like the look the www.sw-motech.de stuff much better. What i was thinking was buying a motech bandit 1250 rack and a motech sv1000 rack and see if i could make one good kit out if it, with a little fabrication if needed but before I do that i wanted to make sure the v35 bags would fit on the back of the bike and not hit the exhaust or anything elese back there. Thats why i was looking for bandit and vstrom owners who might have the bags.

thanks for the welcomes,
Ryan

OMG, I guess they did kill the SV!

Kind of a shame. One could pick these up for next to nothing in my neck of the woods. In fact, I came close to buying one once.

I would not imagine you will ever see Givi mounting kit, but I am sure you could fabricate something. Make friends with a welder!
