Anyone checked out the new 2008 Xt250?  It replaced the old Xt225.  I've sat on it at the dealership but that's all.  Anyone ridden one?

C'mon party people! Noone on the Yamaha site has checked this puppy out?
If it makes you lot feel any better, I just bought my first Yamaha yesterday! Ok so it's a TTR125 but itsa gonna be a lot of fun!
So c'mon, help out a fellow Yammie owner!  Someone must here must have tripped over an XT250 in their rush to get new muffler bearings for their Feejers!

I've been eyeballing it, but probably won't pull the trigger until I leave Vegas.

I don't have a truck or trailer to put the bike in, and there is basically no way out of Vegas that don't involve interstates or high speed U.S. routes (i.e., no back roads at all). So I'm pretty much forced into a situation where I'm going at least 75mph for a good distance to get where I want to go - which pretty much precludes anything under 500cc's.

When I get out of here, and land someplace where some slower paced routes are available to me, it's one of the first bikes I'll be looking at.

I would love to have one as a second bike. I had a DR650 for about 6 months and that thing was a pig off-road. I know the motor is designed after the WR motor just de-tuned for reliablity on the street. I wonder how much oomph it looses.

But the WR250R is also a dual sport (dirt/street legal) bike.

Excuse me for bumping an old thread.  We found a leftover XT250 at the dealer.  It's a bit costly for our budget, but my wife liked it.  I am wondering how well this bike does on the highway - how bad are the vibes and what is the realistic top cruising speed?  I like the FI and it seems like pretty rugged.  Thanks.
