Hope weather holds  Crazy

Looks like rain on Sunday afternoon - but if it holds I'll see all there.

I'll take a 40-50% chance of showers over 90% chance of RAIN anyday...

You should be able to ride out of the showers, if any.. I'm out for a good time regardless of the weather.

A day on the bike in showers is better than a good day at work! Smile

See you all on Sunday,  and the chosen few on Saturday....

From Easton area Me & a buddy from a another site are going this route

I've been as far on the below as Shamokin.

Here it is - if anybody has a better way from Shamokin I'm all ears.

I'm gonna take us Hamburg (should take us about 45 mins from here) exit 29b on I-78

Rt. 61 North to Rt 895 west (Market St) to Pine Grove, Pa

Rt. 443 / 125 north - left Township Rd 634, back onto Rt. 125 north to Shamokin, Pa

Rt. 61 west to Sunbury, Rt. 15 north to Furnace Rd, left.

Right onto Brouse / Grove Rd. turns into Buffalo Creek Rd. to Rt. 192. North / west to Rt. 447 (Bull Run Rd) right

Right onto Rt 64/220 towards Lock Haven. Rt. 120 North (Renovo Rd) to Renovo, Pa. Pick up Rt. 144 south to Moshannon. Pick Rt. 53. to I-80 West to exit 120. Left onto Rt. 879 to Rt. 322 west. Off exit go straight at stop sign onto Woodland Rd. to 1452 Woodland> Dennys

nnjhawk - are you doing that all on Sunday morning?

North of Pine Grove you can turn off on Molleystown Road thru Jolliet to Main Street, than pick-up 125 again.  It's not really much shorter, but it gets you into twisties faster.  That is, unless you want to do the high-speed straightaway portion of 125 where it ducks under Rt. 80.

Route 61, Shamokin to Sunbury is nothing special.  I don't know the backroads you listed after Sunbury, but Rt 477 looks interesting.

If you want an alternative that is about the same distance, but shows 1/2 hour less time, consider skipping Sunbury by heading straight up 54 to 80 after Shamokin.  Get off 80 at Rt 15, then take Rt 44 up though Jersey Shore, past Waterville, then turn-off to Hyner Mountain and Renovo.  Route 44 is a good road with mountains, sweepers and scenery.  Then after Renovo and 144 consider hopping over to 879 into Clearfield instead of Rt. 80.

The bike is packed, the Zumo has been properly wired to the battery terminals (now with solderless connectors), the routes are programmed, reservation has been made, and James and I roll out Sat. morning at 9AM.

I plan on getting to the Days Inn around 3:30 PM, unpack, refuel, and do a nice little loop north of Clearfield.  No later than 6:30 PM, James and I should be back at the Days Inn and ready for some grub.

Kendenton, are we ordering pizza again and kicking tires of the bikes in the parking lot?  Anyone is welcome to order pizza w/ us and shoot the breeze.

We'll see you there.   Bigok

Yes - On my map Molleystwon Rd is also Township rd 634.

Thanks for the map - might hit that way to stay away from Sunbury & Lock Haven

Just hope it doesn't rain too much  Embarassment

Ok, Road 634 is called Molleystown on google maps.

Looks like a good route, I'm thinking about going that way, too, as long as the radar is about 1/2-way clear.

Count me in! Once I arrive saturday evening/afternoon, I'm perfectly happy to start in with the beer and pizza and let the bike enjoy some time without me.

Here's my route for getting to Clearfield tomorrow. I added 50 miles to it since Saturday should be great weather and Sunday is looking unpredictable. That means I'll be more of a 7pm arrival than 5-6pm probably.

Garry,

Be careful around marker #12. That's where Keith (Chips) went bear hunting on his FJR last year. Silly guy brought a knife to a gunfight, so to speak Wink

Is that like proof that the fastest line between two points is not straight?

I took the inserts out of the Leos this afternoon. I'm sure you'll hear the deep, booming bass note before you see the bike :-) This weekend is a test run as to whether sans inserts is too loud or not. See you at the Days Inn tomorrow night. Ride Safe! And take lots of pics!
