Greg,

I still need to call the Hotels but last year we had a third in our room in Clearfield and there was no problem.  I'll call both Hotels this weekend to verify.  Those cots are comfy.   EEK!

We're leaving NY Friday morning.  If you can get off work we could hook up with you just off exit 309 off route 80 at the intersection of routes 209 and 447.

See you there.  Right now my plan is to stay here Saturday night.

This means I won't be available to help close the bar Saturday night, but the promise of an excellent meal outweighed the opportunity to imbibe a copious quantity of suds. [Damn, I am getting old, and it shows.]

googus,

We're all set with room reservations.  There is a group of us from NY going to both the Burgerfest and ESTN.  We have rooms reserved for Fri and Sat nights for both events.  You got the cot so your plans can be flexible - 1 or 2 nights, 1 or both events.  There are already two of us per room and we can add the third with no problem.  Is it April yet?

No worries mate.  Either day works for the Burgerfest.  However we are going to Ohio just before ESTN.  We will be arriving Friday evening in Marlinton and your all set up for that.  See you soon bud.

Then jogging over through Tyrone, and catching 453 North toward Clearfield.  453 looks interesting on the map as it follows the creek, but I'd like some feedback if it is worthwhile to jog over to it versus saving time on a more direct route.  2023 takes the rest of the way to Clearfield.

I just rode this stretch yesterday, and it was nice as always.  The climb up the mountain out of Tyrone is nice but the pavement is a little tired in places, however not so much that it would keep me away from riding it.

Lucky guy and I hope you had a great time. One of the ladies from work packed it in and took off for Hawaii to find work and settle into a new life style.  Smile

Hey Allan,

For a more scenic ride consider heading north on 62 from Tionesta to Tidioute, then taking Hearts Content Rd/Pleasant Rd into Warren. There's an OK overlook near the start of Heart Content (watch for the brown signs). Once in Warren, take 59 up to Kinzua Dam. Stop for some pics.

A little bit after the dam, but just before you cross the bridge over the lake, make a right onto the Longhouse National Scenic Byway (signed). Nice, scenic back road that runs along that leg of the lake, plus a tangent up to Jakes Rocks (think that's right). Eventually it ends on route 321 north of Kane. There are a few different routes from Kane to St Marys to choose from, and then continue your loop on 120, 872, etc.
