Crazy LOOKING TO ESCAPE TO WARMER PLACES????      Headscratch WANT TO RIDE YOUR MOTORCYCLE????  Lol HERE IS AN OPPORTUNITY  Bigsmile

The Chicago-Milwaukee HSTA riders are on the move again. This time a weekend trip to the Tennessee/North Carolina roads and all the twists they offer.

This informal ride is simply for the fun of it. The basic plan as of this posting is to meet up on Wednesday (3/26) around 1pm in the O'Hare Area (place to be decided see note about planning meeting below), with site set on getting at least to Indianapolis that evening and into North Carolina on Thursday.

Squeezing in as many miles as we can riding the roads of this motorcycle Mecca on Friday and Saturday. Making the the long sprint home on Sunday.

Informal enough to that there will be a GO/NO GO point if the weather looks to bad to ride.

The reason for the post is to see if any of you would like to ride with us. We will be meeting for pizza and planning THURSDAY, MARCH 6 @ 6pm
Kaisers Pizza
1801 N Highway 21
Gurnee, IL 60031
(847) 336-6500

Of course feel free to join us for pizza even if you do not plan on going on the trip or join us on the trip even if you skip the pizza.

Here is the plan for those still considering this trip.

We are meeting up at the Hinsdale Oasis at 12:30pm top off the tanks and heading out.

Shooting for Louisville via the interstate system (maybe farther depending on the time we make.)
Next morning Louisville to Townsend off the interstate.

Check in and go back out and ride into the evening.

Ride the area on Friday

Checkout on Saturday enjoy the area again as we meander some what north ending somewhere to make the Sunday sprint for home shorter than if we stayed in Townsend until Sunday morning.

Finger crossed for decent weather.

So join us it should be a great trip....

Great road. I used to live in the general area and loved it. Tell your guys to keep an eye out - the local police have been cracking down on "spirited" riding on The Dragon.

Has anyone in your group been down that way before?

Actually the planned route to Townsend looks very interesting as it will be off the interstate following some of the routes from MAD MAPS.

This should be a great trip, we welcome the company if anyone want to come along.....

I very well may be riding to Birmingham at this same time.  Would love to ride to Louisville with you if things gel.  Will watch the thread and post up as my plans become more clear.

Sounds like a great time.  David, I think we meet at one of the Sushi meets?  Anyways, I need to change my profile from Fast Beemer to Fast-Strom  Smile Yeah, I sold the BMW last year.  I just put a deposit on an '05 Vee-Strom in NYC.  I wanted to fly out this weekend to go pick it up.. but the weather is not cooperating Sad  So, maybe I can fly out the 26th, and ride towards you for a couple of fun days riding?  I'll keep you posted....  Bigok

So, hows it looking for next week?  I think i'm gonna try and fly out to NYC on thursday, go get a power outlet installed at a local dealer (so I can use my gerbings), and go out towards you all.  What's the chance?

So far its a go....

Final call of course depends on mother nature.  But even if it is like today when we leave I do not see that stopping us.
