I've been looking at the rides listed in the other thread, and thinking the 434 miles Push Mountain loop sounds good for wednesday.  We'll (the LoSoCal contingent) arrive in ES in the afternoon on tuesday, so just a small loop if we have the time and motivation will do us.  Otherwise it's a relaxing afternoon in Lovely Eureka Springs for us.

434 miles will probably be our shortest day of a week's worth of riding.  It'll be nice to have a sort-of off day.

We can always do the loop twice.

Lunch anywhere is good with me, I just want to hit some of those great roads.  I have great memories of 16.

Fingers crossed for decent weather.

Hey Mr. Sprocket,

Since I will be staying somewhere around Branson in the rv, I will need some ride time in the morning to get to the Rodeway and hook up with you guys.  What time do you suspect your tours will be departing?   I don't want to wake up and get there to early because knowing the pace of your tours - I will need all the rest I can get!  (also need all of the beauty sleep I can get)  Plus it takes me about an hour to fix my hair in the mornings...so I need to know when to set the alarm.

AR does not have a helmet law...so helmet hair should not be an issue.  And since it will be warm and the state doesn't care if you are protected or not...I don't think I will be wearing the armor jacket either.  Didn't that pic of FJR1300 with no helmet/gear look cool!

You know, I have ridden once without a helmet and it was really uncomfortable. I can't imagine railing around those roads without gear. But to each their own. Hit some gravel though and guess which one of us is getting up and back on their bike?

Sorry, my bad.  I was just stirring the pot and poking a little fun at myself and my hair(or lack there of).  I will be good from now on.  Wink  (Just fyi...I will have my helmet and armor jacket on during the rides)   But I do still need to know approximately what time the rides are leaving on Tuesday morning.  Unfortunately I will be staying 52 twisty miles from the Rodeway.  Hey, I guess thats better than being 52 slab miles away.

52 miles is just a short warm up before breakfast.

Yes you do need all the beauty sleep you can get and then some!
I would say at least by 8:00 AM. (thats kickstands up and on the gas). Because its gonna be so dang hot I would say at daylight, but I dont expect anyone would prefer that.
A 300 to 400 mile day ride and be back in plenty of time to catch a shower then dinner, leaving by 8:00 should provide plenty of time.

It looks like I may join you on Wednesday if I can.  After we get past Push Mountain I'll just head east home.

Looks like it is gonna be hot and humid, so stands up and rolling by 8am is good.
I will have all day Monday to ride but I am going to stay north of the state line and check out southern Missouri and see what Mark Twain Nat'l forest has to offer.  Therefore, I will see ya Tuesday Morning in time for coffee and hair combing prior to stands up.  Cool
Ride safe,
Mark

Howdy and welcome to all you riders headed to Arkansas this week.

I plan to be on 341 this Wednesday and look forward to seeing y'all.

As of last weekend I can no longer put out any roadside signs to let riders know that I am up ahead.  Seems the state has taken offense at me doing that.  I am setup about 8.8 miles from the south end of Push Mountain road.  I would appreciate it if y'all could space yourselves out some in order for me to have a chance to get a good shot of each one of you.

All are invited to stop by and say hey.  I'll make a group photo and give it to y'all if you do.

I can't say for certain about this Wednesday, but I do know that the forest ranger had the day off last Wednesday.

Have fun and ride safe.

Great rides!  Sprocket did a terrific job planning out the routes.  Jetpilot set a good pace Tuesday when I joined everyone.  Sprocket and Bunbun set a slightly more... spirited pace yesterday.

Thanks, Sprocket, for the routes and ride-leading. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride on wednesday, despite cutting out later in the afternoon because the heat was getting to me. Guess I continued my tradition of missing out on group pictures, as I heard you all got 'shot' on Push Mountain road.  Bigsmile

Just a reminder to all who made the Wednesday ride on 341, to email me for a copy of the group photo.

Thanks for stopping by.
