Hey Marty,
I'm now playing a similiar but different game. It's called San Diego Photo Tag.

This one is an hour from my house.

Nope!  After much waiting may I present Louie the Lumberjack of Northern Arizona University.  You may notice that he went home and changed his shirt while waiting for one of us to show up.

P.S.  Getting this pic while the Cardinals were holding training camp about 300 yards away was a massive PITA.  If you look REALLLLLY close you can see that the tach is up as I basically had to jump off the bike, snap the pic, and jump back while it was still running without getting massacred by all the old people watching me take a wheelchair space.

Your new objective is to find this:

I enjoy the detective work involved with locating some of our tags and don't want to sound like a whiny bitch who needs an address before he'll head out to try for a tag (i.e., http://www.southwestrides.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=142064#post142064) but, please sir, could I get a hint.

Oh yeah, welcome to the game Kodiak.

Well I WAS going to give you a big hint until you called a south west rides member a "whiny bitch."  Thursday was my birthday and look at what they did for me: http://www.southwestrides.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=20697 You know what I got from STN?  Nothing, not even an automated "Happy Birthday" e-mail.   Twofinger

In all seriousness.  This is one of many abandoned mines in a small area, there is an active mine a few miles away but it's at least 1500' lower.  The parking lot is pretty big, but not because of the mine.  There is a nearby tourist spot with very little parking so people will park at the mine and walk to the tourist spot.  Note that the parking lot is new enough that it looks like dirt on google maps.

Good hunting.

I wasn't calling anyone (or a group) of SWR members a whiny bitch (especially not the guy who lifts tractor trailers for sport) but I definitely see how it reads that way in my post - apologies.  Everyone I've met through SWR have seemed to be really good people - friendly, helpful, inclusive.  The membership is helpful and very supportive of each other -- and they seem to know how to move a tag around.

I got the same message as Mr. Yotes when I clicked on your link.

Based on your clue, knowing what part of the state your from and where you rode to pick up the previous tag, I have a hunch where that parking lot is.  I just picked up a new-to-me bike and really want to get it out for a shake down.  Unfortunately, I just moved this past weekend and don't know when I can get away.  Maybe I can blow off organizing my kitchen and get a ride in this next weekend.

I was so sure I knew where Kodiak's tag was located.  So Saturday morning I got an early start and hit the road north.

http://i729.photobucket.com/albums/ww300/kniepm/Linked/S7300697.jpg

I made it to Jerome around 11:00 and went to the Jerome State Historical Park (which was closed) and found these:

http://i729.photobucket.com/albums/ww300/kniepm/Linked/S7300710.jpg

Similar, but not quite the same place as the original tag.

Not a lost day, though.  I got to get my new-to-me bike out for a nice ride.  I chased the rain most of the morning - seeing lots of wet highway but never being under the rain clouds.

Plus the bonus, I got to spend a while walking around Jerome and have lunch with my brother and dad:

http://i729.photobucket.com/albums/ww300/kniepm/Linked/S7300727.jpg

I didn't get the tag but I had a great a time.

So, Kodiak, was I getting close?

Actually you got the tag...sort of

You were about half a mile away, but if you look at the pic closley you can see the tower and the tan building in the background.

I guess technically there is a pic of your bike in the same pic as the landmark so I would say you got the tag.

Thanks Kodiak.

Unless Yotes chimes in and rules no get, I guess I've got to get out and find the next tag.  I had a pretty good one planned to pick up on the way home but I blew it off because I didn't think I got this one.

I didn't see the parking area your bike was in and the tan building looked different in person than it did on the screen of my Zumo.  I also didn't see the bare mountainside the way it is in the background of your picture.
