Hi,

Taking a ride this Sunday with a few friends. Thought about heading up towards Baumgrtner's in Monroe, WI.  Any decent routes to take from Crystal Lake? Any roads to avoid? If anyone wants to join us, we plan on leaving Crystal Lake around 8am. Thanks in advance.

Hi:
Last weekend from Streamwood, I took Rt 72 through Byron and then northbound on 26/69.  It was a straight shot with decent road conditions once out of Chicagoland.  While it was not the shortest route, the scenery was much better than the tollway could offer.

Welcome to STn Scout17!

Those articles never give the details to determine who was at fault.

"the motorcycle struck the car" usually means that the car pulled out in front of the motorcyclist, and the car driver says: "He was speeding! He came out of nowhere!" SMIDSY in other words. Sad

Oh, I agree you can't trust "the cause" especially when one of the participants is dead.  Of course the other guy is going to say it was all the motorcyclist's fault.  I was providing it more for, yes an accident occurred, this is probably what you saw, yes a motorcycle was involved.  The real details... probably not.

I have been hit twice and both times the other driver stated the same thing we have always heard, I didn't see him.  My response in both cases and still is, then you need to park that thing (the car) and walk.

Glad to be on the site.  I see a few familiar names from the ST Owners site as well.
