well i figure it's time to start one of these threads again.
was looking at the weather this morning and could see severe storms moving this way so i said what the heck I'll ride. well wouldn't you know it never rained. i Even moved the bike inside (no it's not an HD) b/c it looked like it was going to hail.

I thought about something Scott (Mr. Clean) said a couple meets ago: "Unless it is POURING, I ride to work."
I do kind of a toned down version. I take the train to work, but I ride Burgertime to the train station unless it is raining when I leave in the morning. If I get soaked on the way home, who cares? I don't want to mess around with rain gear for the 1.5 mile ride to the train station. So if it is raining, I wake up Kate and have her give me a lift. (so she can have the car available)

Not me...pouring rain and thunderboomers were parked overhead from 5:00 AM until about an hour ago...so I "caged it" into work.
Still a bunch of high cloud cover overhead. If it gets as hot as predicted here, it'll be very humid in just a couple of hours.
Just as well...I need to clear out the remnants of my personal stuff...my last day here is the 13th...

I had a free shower Tuesday coming home. Not only that, but my laundry was done for me by the time I arrived.
Monday, Wednesday and today things are looking better but somehow my garden is already watered by the end of each day.

Very dense, heavy fog this morning, like can't see the driveway from 20 feet away. First time in the car since March 1st to work. Everyone asked where the bike was!

Come to America's Dairyland in February...it's a bit more challenging to ride then.
Some do, though....

I didn't ride yesterday, there was a threat of hail, and I don't have anything that I can park the bike under to keep it from getting pelted, so I said no. Lame I know, but she's my baby, I can't let her get hurt like that. Hail never did show up though...

Hey, new here. I commute most days it's not pouring upon departure, icy/snowy, or I need to haul something the bike can't handle.
Today I might have chosen poorly considering they just threw up an 18-county tornado watch until 6:00 p.m.
The upside on the days I cage is that even if I picked wrong and the weather turns out OK, it's a convertible cage. And a convertible cage doesn't compel helmet use

Thank you, thank you. I tend to wax and wane in online forums, but I'm going to try to stick with this one. I need to do more than just commute.

Rode to work all week (for the past 7 weeks).
Been putting the cover on the bike when there is a threat of hail. I figure the hail will bounce off the cover vs. pinging off the tank.
The folks I work with think I'm nuts, but I think it's a good type of nuts. Maybe almonds or pistachios.

Let's see. I rode on the 2nd, but not the 3rd. Then I rode on the 4th, but not the 5th. I rode yesterday, the 6th, and ended up getting lost at lunchtime and ended up out on Stagecoach and Blackjack.
Oh, FWIW there are several sections of Blackjack that are still gravel. better than a month ago, but you still have to keep an eye open.

Normaly I wouldnt let a little rain stop me but, here in northern Indiana the wind has been crazy for the last couple weeks. If they are not calling for severe storms when I leave for work in the mornings then I will most likely ride.

Ride to work? Is this a joke? I would never ride to work. What if it rains?

Yup. Even with my neon dorksuit, I almost got pressed out of existence by a semi driver who decided at the last minute that he wanted to turn left and started to occupy the turn lane I'd already claimed. Luckily he eventually saw my suit or heard my airhorns, I'm not sure which. He looked somewhat apologetic. No harm, no foul, right? Can't wait for my new tires, though - I locked up the back when I first saw him coming over.
One good thing about all of this rain lately - not much grunge left on the streets to muss up my freshly bathed bike.

I rode the wife's bike, as mine is FUBAR from the trip to Georgia. I'll be pulling heads and flushing everything tonight.
