Day 7 -
Started off in Torrey, Utah at 8 am and headed east to Capitol Reef National Park. Got there nice and early, even before the rangers had the chance to clear the roads from the storm the night before. So there were areas that had red mud on the road from the flash floods. We road as far as we could and stopped. As we were at the end of the road and enjoying the view a Ranger came up to us and said "I did not know nayone was down here, I just closed the road so we can clean it, so when you go out the gate will be closed, please let yourself out and then reclose the gate." So we were the only ones down in the canyon, cool. So took our time heading out and then we continued east on 24 to Hanksville. We stopped at the same gas station Matt did, lol. This is where we parted ways, the triumphs riders went north and I went south on 95. 95 south was beautiful, not a soul around, I swear I saw one car in 50 miles, it was me, my bike, the road and nature. I followed 95 south through Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and made a stop at the Natural Bridges National Monument. From here I continued east on 95 to 191 north. I followed 191 north up to 211 west to the Canyonlands National Park. Where I ended up riding a gravel road for 22 miles, sucked because there were some awesome curves, but had to go slow because of the gravel. Went all the way until the road ended in the Canyonlands, then turned around and headed back out to 191 north. I took this to Moab, Utah and went through Arches National Park. Geez was it busy and lots of traffic late in the day. My bike got really hot and it was like 109 out. Finished at Arches and went back south on 191 to 128 west, a small road that followed the Colorado River and then went through fields back to I-70. Now I just got on I-70 and took it to Green River, Utah for the night. There were too many mosquitoes and I was hot from the heat so I splurged again for a hotel, where I swam in the pool and did laundry.
