As was covered already... this move is probably to give HD access to the MV European dealer network.  There might be some reciprocation, but its unlikely to be very wide spread. They won't go over very well in US Harley shops and Buell won't want the additional competition in thier few dealers sole or mixed Japanese/Ducati/etc. dealers.

I agree this is a move for the Euro market. HD sales have been growing in Europe. Especially in the last year with the weak dollar. Many US companies are concentrating on other markets while the US economy is hurting and HD is smart enough to join in.

If only I could have been on the team selected to travel to Italy and evaluate the deal and products. Don't you know they worked some hard days. Up a 9am, breakfast, wine and a smoke , at the office at the crack of noon, wine and smoke then lunch, wine and smoke, test ride, wine and smoke, dinner, select models for the new HDMV clothing line!!!, wine smoke, disco, etc. etc.

You guys are all wrong. I hear that HD bought MV to get their hands on secret Italian plastic moulds.

Here is the bloody proof. Look at that tail section Mr.!

Yes, the Euro Model you won't get in North America. I believe this is just a prototype shot though.
