OK, I now gots me a Street Bob.  The fork legs are all exposed to rock chips etc which may eventually cause the fork seals to fail.  Japanese/European etc bikes now mostly come with little protective shields.
I have a set of wikkid ugly NOJ neoprene sleeves on the bike, in the hope that I can replace them with something nicer looking.  Any ideas?
Thanks!

I've heard of a lot of guys making their own from re-fitting dirt-bike gaiters.

You can't use the ones from the Nighster as the Dynas now have way beefier forks than than the spindly little ones on the sportsters (they used to be the same up until on the last year or few).

I gotta believe there's a company out there that makes generic ones that you could get, and possibly adapt.

Quick search shows:

Specifically:
Fork gaiters, 35mm, universal fit, pair     $25.00

Might be a good start, contacting them.

Don't know what size they are, but...

This place also sells a variety of gaiters, I believe.

And if you want to go off-continent...

I've used shock absorber gaiters from Rancho Suspension. Go to any 4-wheel drive place and ask them to order you some, or they may be in stock.

They are like $5 each and look just like motorcycle gaiters. BMW makes fancy hoses clamps for the old carburated boxers, a couple of those look good to clamp the bottom of the gaiter to the slider, I just use the supplied zip ties for the top.

I think the Rancho part number is RS-1952 but it's been awhile since I've bought any.

I saw a fella at a local SUnday Morning gathering place (replacement for the late, lamented Highland House) last year with fork protectors that exactly matched his blue Beemer --

looked factory -- when asked, he chuckled and copped to the fact that he'd made em out of the covers from a plastic binder found at Office Despot --

creative thinking at it's best!
