Take some time, thumb back thru the pages here, young Jedi.  It's been tagged before.  There's a spreadsheet available somewhere in this book of tags too.   Wink

I went back 40 pages or so....meh. Image still there? Lots of 'no longer available' messages that far back. Is it still in the land of the trolls?

My dear wife, sensing the pain of me potentially not going to WVA this weekend, sent me on the phototag:

Here we go.  I figured I should tag this since it's been a great local landmark for many, many years, and if will be leaving soon.  Bound for Canada.    Sad

I was just comparing Clays pic and mine and look at the water line. The ship in Clays is a lot lower than the one i took.

Bilge hasn't been pumped out in a while would be my guess.
With this being a non operational ship, they can't discharge the bilge water into the lake. So all liquids need to be put into a lic hauler.

That was what i was thinking to but if it gets any lower the name will have to be changed to the Titanic.

In Ed's pic it might be on the bottom.  It has been setting on the bottom for many, years as the lake filled in with sediment.  They actually dredged right around it already and moved it with a couple large bulldozers pulling from land.  Currently it is floating- they have done many things to do that.  You'll notice in my pic (I should have taken a closer one) the lifeboats are removed, and everything that wasn't bolted down has been removed from the ship in order to lighten it and get it out.  The new permit is to dredge a channel through the lake, which will be a major undertaking as much of it is less than 6 feet deep.  The Kalamazoo river dumps all it's sediment there.  My brother-in-law is plugged into the local boating community and he's keepoing me posted on progress.  I plan to be out there when they come in with the tugs to drag it out.   Thumbsup

Closer to the truth than you think!  It's been my lowly 6 mile round trip commute for most of the spring.   Crazy
