So there's interest.   Lol  Here are the rules (these are the same rules in the Delaware area tagging with a few state specific modifications):

Standard rules apply:

    * YOUR BIKE MUST BE IN THE PHOTO. Attempt to reproduce the original tag photo is not acceptable.  Obviously.
    * NO FILE PHOTOS. You are not allowed to use existing photos from previous rides/trips either to get the current tag or to place a new tag
    * NO TRAILERS, TRUCKS, ETC. You must ride your bike to the tag (yes, it's been done before, hence the rule)
    * The first person to POST a photo of their bike at the tag location, gets to pick the next tag location. It's not who gets to the tag first, it's who POSTS THE PHOTO FIRST. Might be wise to learn how to post photos from your cell phone while on the road...
    * You may take a photo of a new tag on your way to (hopefully) getting the current tag (same day), but other than that exception, use of any photo taken prior to getting the current tag is forbidden
    * TRY TO PICK INTERESTING TAG LOCATIONS. Pick spots that are fun to get to, have some historical interest, weird/zany, whatever, but consider what clues will be needed to find it. If you make it too obscure, the game stalls. Better to keep the tag moving than having people searching for a tree in the forest
    * TAGS MUST BE IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN.  Indiana and Ohio are close but not close enough.  At this point I see no reason for it not to be in the UP as well, but be aware that by moving the tag to the UP you may be significantly slowing the game down.
    * The new tag must be posted within 24 hours of grabbing the old one. After 24 hours the previous tag is up for grabs again
    *  RIDE!

Edited to add:  BIG thanks to Wooderson for putting together a Google spreadsheet of all the tags:

1. Get our current tag.  If you need help just ask someone will chime in.
2. Take it back to Michigan and post one from there.
3. One of us will come over on the other side of the puddle to bring it back to this side.

It's that simple.

I would *love* to have you invade our state.  I look longingly at your game of phototag.  DOn't get me wrong- I couldn't do it all the time, but I'd love to have an active game around here.  I checked out a couple of locations, and most of them are ~4 hours out- not a big deal, but that's pretty much a whole day.
Get it down to NW/NE Indiana and I'd make that run for sure!

I'd Play.

I'm usually so busy at work I can't get enough time to do the tri-state thing although I would love to, I usually only have Sundays or after work during the week for a spin on the bike.

Just a thought, Clay.  Try posting a picture of a place you can reach that you know is close to some other ST-N folk.  Getting something that's close to others is a way to get the ball rolling.  Asking if you should start one is just wasting the time that could be spent starting one.  If it doesn't work, what's the worst that could happen?  No one tags it.  Well, in that case, post something else.  It's bound to catch.  Now get out there and find something cool.
