I will be 52 in April but Monday I offically became old  Wink  This confirms I am getting old, I did a twelve hour ride on Monday and rode at or near the speed limit all day.  I even got passed by a diesel pick up!  Embarassment We started in CT and took the highway to Brattleboro VT then it was a trip through the green mountains, over lake Champlain via the Ferry and then down through and the Adirondacks via rt 22 till we were parallel with Mass. We took rt 7 and 23 over to the Berkshires then back to CT. We spent ten hours in the mountains with incredible scenery and I don't think I was over the speed limit by more than a few till I hit rt 8 at the end of the ride. By then I needed a "fix" and rode rt 8 at "ludicrous speed". I rode with my friend mark who I met on the GSR.( another MC website) he now also has a ZZR1200 but is a much more subdued rider and If I picked the pace up it just meant I would have to wait longer for him to catch up so I never picked the pace up. What an enjoyable ride! Ill have to try that law abiding stuff again,I may be on to something here

Skip, you are old.  As a young man of 51, I laugh at your advanced age.

Being 52 does not make you old.  I know this, because I also am 52.  Being 52 AND owning a V-strom makes you old!!!   Bigsmile   You are not old until you trade the ZZR1200 for a V-strom!!!!   (Extra "old" credit points are available for trading it for a R1200RT!!!!   Twofinger)

I was up there a few weeks ago. The guys I road with were just a little slow. One guy got in full tuck on the sprint at 70 mph.
They all thought I was nuts when I cracked it open just a little on 9(east) out of Bennington. So the rest of the day I hung at there speed, I got to look around and see stuff but didn't get to "enjoy" the roads till the next day

Your not old, I did like the view there, it was nice to see some of it. But I was wanting to "ride" that day not "look"

This is a beautiful ride, VT100 one of my favorites we rode from Brattleboro to Burlington via Middlebury gap a few years ago, it was nice!

You're not old, you're just mature.  Don't worry, I didn't start vintage racing until I was older than you, so there is still hope for you yet. Lol

Meh, You've been old for two years and just didn't know it. 50 years is antique status.   Razz

(said from the safety of having 2 years to go before I reach that point.)  Bigsmile

Yep I took it to the dragstrip a few weeks ago and was amazed how quick it was compared to some of the bikes that you would think would kick its A$$. Its kawasaki's best kept secret. Does everything well at a fraction of the cost.

In my motorcycle club, at 55 I am one of the younger ones.  Baby-boomers refuse to 'grow old'.

Truer words were never spoken. I have not grown up either. Like I said in an earlier post I took the ZZR to the dragstrip a few weeks ago and had a blast ( see my signature photo). I was the oldest guy there on a bike. I usually am one of the guys up front with the folks  I ride the twisties with, they are all younger than me  some only by a little but younger none the less. I usually don't lead but always  ride in the top three. this past Monday, spending a whole day not having to worry about getting a ticket or  what was around the next corner was really nice. I guess my point is ten years ago I could never ride all day at the speed limit and enjoy it. Now I can. I can still ride hard and I will, just not all day like I used to.
