Maybe I'll try stealing the wife's laptop when she's not looking and see if it works from there.

If so, your IP address may have been banned.
DennisH, what your screen name over on TRAT? I can access the site, so maybe I can check and see if you've been banned (like so many others.)

I had no idea there were all these bannings on the Rat board.
While we're in bitch-mode, I didn't like that I lost control of my photo album there when they did one of their software upgrades.

Honestly, it's been so long since I've been able to log on to that site, I'm not sure what my user name was. It was probably dennish, same as here, but maybe not. I don't think I used it enough to get banned, though.

It used to be a fine forum (2003 - 2006). Lots of people with knowledge to share about mods and maintenance. I stopped hanging out there when I sold my Sprint in June 2006. I guess I noticed a rise in flame wars and moderation about that time. Pity that it's gone down the crapper.

I've found the Sprint forum to be overlorded by pompous self-important windbags.
It's not a very "welcoming" place, it seems like the long-timers just want to stroke each other over how much better they are than the newbies.
I thought it was just me that saw it that way. Not exactly the friendliest of sites fer sure. When I was contemplating the purchase of a Sprint, I started poking around the site, joined up & then attempted to join in some of the discussions but was treated pretty rudely on a few occasions. (Normally people wait until they meet me b4 doing so.) Can't say I stop by there too often anymore.

I can't get into T-Rat either, even now they have unbanned me.
On the Thunderbird forum, I found everyone friendly enough. I did dip my toe into other areas and didn't like it so much. I got banned by going off Tbird topic...

For those of you w/Sprints, there's an actual Sprint site:
http://www.sprintowners.com/?
It's not that active a site, probably cuz most folks don't know it exists.

+1 Snowdog. They drove that thing into the wall a long time before S finally sold it. Shame, as it at one time had a genuine core group of experts in all year and model ranges that were great enthusiasts. Evolved into endless oil threads under nancy boy "leadership".
They certainly did. They didn't like any posts that were critical of the marque. They were happy to sit back and let other members make personal attacks on those who had genuine issues, but would then come down all heavy when people tried to defend their position.

What a shame to hear it's changed so much, I used to enjoy going on there when I had my Trophy and Bonnevilles. When they did the change over I couldn't log on anymore and by then the Trophy had got totaled and I sold the Bonnies for a Suzuki and now the Harley so there was no point. I met a went riding with a couple of the guys from there and just generally had a good time. I was on there from '02 or '03 until they re did everything and I couldn't log on anymore, like I said it was a really good site.
I've been on T595 net too, that's another good one.

I'm one of the admins at sprintowners.com... we don't mess with folks 'til they get nasty, or post up spam. I've seen plenty of shit here that I won't put up with on our board, but then again, pretty much anything goes here. We started sprintowners because we weren't too wild about rat.net either, and the organization of their content sux. We just got hit with a pretty nasty wave of spam and have registration temporarily shut down 'til we get it buttoned up a bit... come visit, I just posted up a cool little solution for organizing the inside of the pans -

Am I the only one who still can't access triumphrat.net? Is there some trick involved? It's the only site I know of that is consistently inaccessible.
Maybe you've been pre-banned by one of the quisling sycophants who elbow each other to play judge, jury and executioner at that site. Used to be good/fun but too much ego, power-tripping by mods and blatant favoritism displayed towards certain members to be anything more than a giant circle-jerk. I hated to see anyone new post because of the round bashing they would be sure to get, especially if they strayed outside the accepted dogma.

Yes, the "in-crowd" there are a bunch of jerks. It was always ok for them be rude about other posters, especially if they committed the cardinal sin and criticised Triumph, but it wasn't ok for people to defend themselves against the in house bullies.

fwiw, tigertriple.com is the best tiger-oriented site... though tiger1050 is better for the 1050 tigers.
can't say enough good things about tigertriple, great bunch of chaps over there, primarily US based from what i can tell.. always willing to help out.
just thought i'd throw that into the ring in case anyone checks this thread and owns a tiger

Well, I logged on to Triumphrat.net a couple of days ago for the first time in ages, and I contributed to a couple of threads, detailing my (not so positive) experiences with the marque. I had a quick peek today and noticed that their policy of allowing a full range of discussion on Triumphs, including good and bad is still present and correct i.e they delete the criticism
The moderator DaveM (a muppit of the highest order) had answered back to a post that he (or another mod) had deleted, but as the original post was now missing it didn't exactly read properly. So on logging in this evening I got the following message:-
"You have been banned for the following reason:
Nothing productive to add to the forums
Date the ban will be lifted: Never"
I didn't think it would be possible for them to get anyworse than they were 18 months ago when I last logged in, but they have surpassed themselves and proved me wrong. Well done to them all for making them an even bigger joke than they already were!!!

A little taster of how friendly they really are over at Triumphrat. Page 5 in particular is a classic example of how warmly they welcome all members

Seems to me like Nelson or whoever he is likes to stir the pot. Since it's a private forum, there is no need to tolerate his ramblings. I've been on the site for a couple of years and have received great information from it.
I will admit that some of the "regulars" can act like jerks sometimes but it's a small price to pay for the free information/assistance I have received.
