Seems to me like Nelson or whoever he is likes to stir the pot. Since it's a private forum, there is no need to tolerate his ramblings. I've been on the site for a couple of years and have received great information from it.
I will admit that some of the "regulars" can act like jerks sometimes but it's a small price to pay for the free information/assistance I have received.
All he has done is to post the experiences he has had with his Triumphs, which is interpreted by the regular jerks as stirring the pot. If you look at their acceptable user policy it makes it quite clear that rudeness to other posters is not acceptable, yet you only have to take a look at the thread attached above to see that they are happy to waive that rule to attack someone who doesn't think that the sun shines out of the corporate arse of triumph.

A little taster of how friendly they really are over at Triumphrat. Page 5 in particular is a classic example of how warmly they welcome all members
LOL! I clicked the link and one or two of the responses had me in stitches! Very funny! That link doesn`t make you look real good BBB!.
I have been a member there for 18 months, the rules can be a pain and some of the mods are a bit anal but it is generally good and also a very busy forum. The Tech help is great and I found most of the older members very helpful. When I joined I read the guidlines in a sticky which said "If you have nothing useful to say, then say nothing." Good advice.
I also browse with firefox, for all the 'net tards' you can use adblocker and check 'block content from verticalscope' for ad free browsing. I have yet to find a better Sprint forum.

The Triumph.rat Stasi don't look too good either with their foot stomping, crying and the insults being hurled around (in breach of the Acceptable User Policy they have there in fact, but I guess they only use that when it suits them) at my long deleted posts, so not having seen what I wrote you are hardly in a position to make the above comment.
All it does is shows the Triumph. Rat Stasi up as the bunch of emotionally retarded fcukwits that they really are.

Hi guys, I'm new here just joined and all that.
This is my first post here, I have a Triumph Sprint and have been riding a long time.
I joined TRAT a little while ago and thought the Sprint forum was quite friendly.
Agreed the mods are very strict, more so than a lot of others forums I have been on, but the forum seems to work well to me. There are some very clever fellows that are helpful.
I looked this thread up because I have Sprint as well as a Busa, I think it is pretty poor one website bagging another like this.
I'm not sure I like the atmosphere here actually, I have noticed a few sites that seem to blag other ones.
I mean if you are not happy somewhere why would you keep going back and then brag about being banned in another forum?
This seems unbalanced to me.
When I saw this thread I thought it would be interesting, you know contacts on other forums swapping info about good rides or something. But this is very disappointing.
I may take my own advice and go elsewhere.
Yinyang.

OK, so just so I get this straight. Earlier on in this thread, you pretended that this Nelson995 bloke was someone you didn`t know who was copping a pasting on T-rat. He was just some poor member copping flack from everyone and you were his champion? Now you are owning up to being the same person? Buddy, I honestly don`t care what you think of Triumphs but you are basically lying to everyone on this board to try and prove a point. Why didn`t you just say "Look what they did to me?" Instead of trying to pretend it was someone else? There is only one person being 'shown up' here, for what he really is.
I`m a member of several internet bike forums, they all have their good and bad points. personally I think there`s no such thing as a 'bad' bike. Harley`s or Hyosungs, no matter, there is someone out there who enjoys riding them. Some of these forums are stricter than others, generally the bigger they are, the harder the rules are. Just like society in general I guess. You need a stricter and more complicated set of rules to run the USA, than you need to run Bermuda!
They all have one thing in common though, the 'TIT' factor.
It doesn`t matter about the bike, the mods, the forum, the topics, WHATEVER! They all seem to suffer from the 'moaning tit.' He`s the guy that turns up at the card game with no money and stands away from the table and complains that the game is rigged.
The better forums (like THIS ONE, T595.net, triumphrat.net, advrider etc.) have a low 'TIT' tolerance and the "Boo hoo hoo, poor me,' members, usually move on (or get moved on) to find short term acceptance elsewhere. I think this is a truly GREAT forum, with one or two TITS that need to be moved on, or learn to harden the F**** up!
Times are hard in the western world right now, let`s have some positivity to help us through. I`m sorry but I just F`n hate crybabys. The USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and NZ we ARE going to ride this F****** recession thing out! Let`s get rid of the TITS and get some positive thoughts happening.

Interesting that both TheVictory and YinYang consume their first postings defending another forum. TROLL. I agree in general with comments on rules and folks needing to move on and or be moved out, BUT, you paint with a broad brush when rationalizing the "other" sites "perfection".
I posted earlier and without getting too repetative and tit for tat, let me say this; Go spend time where you like and if that is the other site, good for you. There is no question what S. was doing prior to the sale of his site and it was his to do so. Many folks left and many stayed. Many more will check it out and do the same. So harden the fuck up your self and enjoy your ride.

I suggest you get your facts straight before you accuse people of lying. A good start would be to read the thread properly, instead of skimming through it, which it is clear that is all you have done. Then you will see I have not pretended to be anyone. In particular take a look at my post of the 17th November

There is far more tolerance in this forum than in triumph.rat. And the same can be said of Advrider and T595.net. The tolerance level in both of those forums is far higher than is accepted by the Stasi who run triumph.rat (do a search in Advrider for posts by Dr. ABS Brake and you will see exactly what I mean). And whilst you might not like the view of those you describe as the TITS, they have the right to express their viewpoint as much as anyone. It's called free speech in case you were wondering. It's something that triumph.rat don't like.

I hate judgemental assholes who post first and engage their brains much later.............assuming they actually have a brain.
PS Which one of the Stasi are you trying to impress with your brown nosing Victory?

You know, the solution is fairly straight foreward....if you don't like the Ratty.net then don't log on. As I said I was on there for years and really enjoyed it, don't know what it's like now but I do know alot of people on there and they struck me as decent sorts. Why piss and moan about a site it's your choice to visit?

I never had a real problem over there till I posted up about changing out a the battery on the sprint.. I just thought it was shocking that you had to pull the tank to do it and getting all kinds of crap about it.. basically I am getting the feeling that the sprint is such a better bike that is ok that you have to pull the tank to put the battery in. My point was why could they just not move the battery box back .25 inch so you didn't have to pull the tank.. I think i am about done over there.

It is a PIA but the battery will come out without removing the tank bolt.
Hmmm wonder how they would react if you point out the sloppy rear suspension

Remove the two bolts that secure the tops of the side panels through the plastic pan... gives the pan some wiggle room away from the tank bolt and the battery comes right out.

My issue with that site is how DaveM and dolson let a few members do whatever they want, say whatever they want to say, and then get mad at anyone else if they point it out. Talk about a forum that is not welcoming to new users.
I mentioned this to the moderators, and they got pissed at me. Then I tried pointing this out to one of the administrators, who then forwarded my IM back to DaveM and dolson, and then dolson restricted my account. So, needless to say, I'm done over there. This will eventually catch up to them, as more people are going to leave, and then once it happens, I will definitely be there to say "I told ya so!". What's even worse is the utter lack of professionalism from those two moderators, specifically dolson. He's 58 years old, and his responses to me were just embarassing.
Anyway, nice to see there are plenty of other people that feel the same way.

Well you have come over to a great site, we are all insensitive miserable thick skinned SOB's here and you can air your Triumph laundry all you want, Mods here are extremely fair, and are mean to every one equally
(just kidding)
Edited to Add: Yup DaveM is the reason I do not post there anymore
Hope DD doesn't read the Triumph forum, she's the toughest of the bunch

DaveM is a t w a t of the highest order. He loves to go on and on and on about his Sprint ST and how wonderful it is but if someone posts up their own experiences of a Sprint which just happen to be negative he gets the right arse and takes it personally. Dolson is just a senile old fool who should hand over the reins to someone with half a brain. As you said Anthony, they let people have free rein with abusing their AUP policy when it comes to having a go at anyone who dares to diss Triumph.

Back from the dead - same question, different year, I see no need to start a new thread.
I'm looking for information on Bonneville’s and Truxton’s. I registered and can log into Triumph Rat but all the forums are locked. I've tried to contact administration multiple times but I can't get a response. Can anyone help me out?
Looks like the opinion of T-Rat here is pretty low. I didn't see a Bonnie or Thruxton site mentioned - is there one? I found The Speed Triple helpful in getting some information about those particular bikes.
