Finally, after four years I've gotten decent at flying the chair

One of my buddies is really crackerjack at flying the chair on his Gear Up, so I asked him for some pointers and practiced them.  I found by sliding my butt to the left as I pick up the chair while simultaneously locking my left elbow, things go much better.  I also put my right knee into the rubber pad on the gas tank.

I normally pick up the chair at low speeds by either turning the bars all the way to full lock when rounding a right-hand turn then giving the Ural a little throttle while leaning left or if going straight (again at slower speeds, I'm not that good, I quickly turn the bars to the left then quickly back to the right while adding a skoosh of throttle.

I can now fly the chair the several blocks of my street, even at walking speeds.  Once you get the chair balanced, it's pretty easy to maintain a mostly straight line with a combo of weight shifting and throttle adjustments.  I hope to hit the MSF raange and try circles, wide looping turns, and someday:  a figure 8.

My dad's uncle in Holland would put a kid in the hack and then fly it over the edge of the road, over the canal.  He was good enough to use the walking bridge to cross the canal.  Dad said it was the best ride in town.

Yep, it's all about balance and not speed, although I'm not good enough to cross narrow bridges.

Heck, I work on staying on my side of my neighborhood street.
