Riding while waiting

I submitted my SS1K a few weeks ago and the general consensus seems to be 4-6 months before getting the coveted license plate and certificate in the mail.

Does the IBA frown on doing additional rides (i.e. BB1500, etc) before getting the first one out of the way? I know you can double up on awards from the same ride. Also does getting the first one certified cut down on the response time for subsequent ones (proven myself once, so do I get some consideration on the next ones)?
