Chai tea and I don't get along well (there was a whole didn't-know-I-had-the-flu, drank-a-Chai-tea, relived-it-an-hour-later incident a few years back)...BUT, the idea of bourbon and milk came up last night during a pre-Oscar interview with Emma Stone. She mentioned drinking "milk punch" on the set of one of her movies. To the interwebs! I found this recipe and will be testing it this coming weekend:

Milk Punch
Adapted from Canal House, v.2

5 cups of a mixture of whole milk and half-and-half (4:1 is suggested, but I might go more like 3:2 next time)
1 1/2 cups bourbon, another whiskey or brandy
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish.

In a pitcher, whisk together milk, half-and-half, bourbon, sugar and vanilla. Freeze until slushy, which will take 3 to 4 hours, but you can leave it in there up to a day. Stir before serving it in chilled glasses, finished with a few gratings of fresh nutmeg.

Bourbon and Milk is cited as the drink-of-choice for "Bob Berringer" (played by Alec Baldwin) in State and Main.

I'm gonna try that for sure.   Thumbsup

Going with an old standby tonight.  It's cheap beer, but I've developed a taste for it at least once a winter.  One case is usually enough to get me around to next winter when I crave it again.

Das ist sehr gut, meine freund!  Inlove

Especially when combined with peach schnapps and cranberry juice to make a red-headed slut. Yummy!

I once asked world famous bartender Murray Stenson "what's in a red headed slut?" and his immediate response was "three drunken frat boys?"

That's the bottle my grandfather kept in the medicine cabinet when I was a child; given by the teaspoon when one was sick.  Crazy  I've never been able to figure out how the marketing geniuses turned it into a wildly popular drink. Anyone remember the first poster-sized ads in bars, showing a dozen people making horrible faces after drinking it?   Lol

I'm still debating what wine to have with dinner tonight.  Fresh-shaken margarita at present.  Beerchug
