Daniel,
Thanks for sharing that trip report, I'm planning to go at the end of this year.

As a local here in "God Zone" New Zealand I can speak about Sport Touring adventures in this fair land.  I have a Honda ST1300 for the road tours. The BMW F800GS and F650 GS are for the off-road tours ( touring with the missus and solo respectively) and last but not least, the Honda XR 250 for the one day or over night, back-country hut tours.

If anyone ever has questions covering touring routes, logistics or personal favorites please don't hesitate to ask.  I also offer a noncommercial, completely unofficial guide service for the South Island as I spend a good part of the year riding the better of the two main islands.

I, along with the rest of New Zealand, invite each and every one of you to visit this amazing place I call home for it truly is the silver lining to adventure tour riding.  Just ask anyone who has ever been here and you will understand the importance to advance this destination to the top of the "To-Do list".

Happy trail and highways to you all,
Flying Kiwi
