I'm out. I need to be back in Cali on the 20th, and Mrs Frzy would like me to be home before.

Have a great ride and be safe.

Hello all......

Here is the plan for the morning of 4/15/2009.  If you plan on starting or meeting at any of these points please chime in so we know to look for you.

The times shown are the kick stands up time, so allow time prior to gas up of partake in a refreshment.  The intent is to be in Bloomington, Illinois by 8:15 enjoy some breakfast and be on the road to Mountain View by 9:30am

In order to keep things less complicated, the gather points will be the Lake Forest oasis 5:15am and the Hinsdale Oasis 6:00am.  On the south bound side of both...

In Bloomington

Cracker Barrel
502 Brock Dr
Bloomington, IL 61701
(309) 829-3155

Just East of  55/74 and south of route 150 W. Market Street

David,

I thought we were planning to be on the road a bit earlier.  I'm still concerned about getting to Mountain View before dark and before the forest rats come out.

I can say 9:00 but that leaves 45 minutes to get off the bikes into the restaurant, eating and getting redressed for the road.  I do not see that as possible so I guessed 9:30 am.

I do not see us arriving any earlier than 8 or 8:15 if you think we can get through the restaurant faster than we can leave at that point.  Leaving at 9:30 puts us to the Dogwood at 5:30 6:00, which is still before dusk.

Maybe we should pick something quicker than Cracker Barrel?

What kind of average speed do you think we will be able to do?  I know that we will have to make a couple rest stops so is 6pm realistic?

Not trying to be difficult, just surveying the situation.

It maybe optimistic, Mapsource has it at 8 1/2 hours going direct.  I do not want to be difficult either but like I mentioned before I do not see us arriving ealrier 8:15am, we will be wanting to eat and heading off from that point.

Realistically that means leaving Bloomington at 9:15 or 9:30.

The time at the other end will just have to work out itself out....

David,
I'll go along with the group. An hour and fifteen minutes is a long breakfast stop. Let's keep moving south and enjoy Mountian View.
I was going to eat before I left.
I don't want to eat fast food the whole trip but we killed an hour and a half at the Cracker Barrel in southern Indiana on the way back last year. If we can we should keep moving.
Lets ride! Wink

Bill,

I think I'm with you and since Curt and Scott are getting there the night before, I don't think they will mind much either.

Either way it will all settle in. This group must be suffering PMS in a big way. Everybody seems to be in a hurry to find some twisties (as Ed would say).

I'm hitting the road at 4:30 in the morning and I won't have to eat so this will be high on my priority list.  I agree, CB is incredibly slow.  Compromise to CB, Bob Evans is just west of I55 on Market st.  Their service is a bit more prompt.

Scott, you and Curt be there at 08:00?

I personally do not like to eat anything but fruit before a long ride.. sits in the stomach funny, gives me cramps, and puts me to sleep  Crazy If I go, I'll do whatever the group does.. but if it was up to me, I'd eat some oatmeal, bananas and bring a fruit and some groanola for when i stop to fuel up.  I'd rather keep the big meal for when I arrive and have a cold one with it  Beerchug

My .01 cent(sorry, times are tough! )

Hi Peter...there's still time to go, but you need to act pretty fast. All the information is in this post although it may be a little difficult to decipher. We are leaving early Wednesday the 15th and returning Sunday.

We have rooms reserved but are getting ready to give them back by the weekend.

Hope you can make it.

Thanks for the info Seeker,

I will know later on today if I can make it.  What is the current count of people that are going?
I'm just little worried about the weather.  :-)  We still have snow on the ground. Lol
