I usually get my Motorcycle Consumer News subscription renewed at the show every other year at the booth as they do the two years for the price of one deal, but this is the off year. Wasn't looking for anything else in particular, but did pick up a set of bike-sized jumper cables from Cycle Gadgets, and a Stop-n-Go tire plugger kit to add to my road-side arsenal, both of which were on my shopping list already. Got both at a discount, so I went home happy!

I'm not happy until you're not happy.

I don't know why people go to that show to try on gear and stuff. I've never really seen anything there you couldn't get at the local dealer any other day except for BMG and Roadgear. You can also see the Arai selection or gety some farkles at Cycle Gadgets, but that's about it unless you need some assless chaps and a sequin bra with tassles.
I did see a huge amount of leather jackets that must have been made for KTM since they had a lot of orange in them.
The show is pretty dissappointing every year as far as products themselves are concerned. I always have a decent time seeing people that I know and Krismark knows a lot of the reps from certain companies. That usually keeps us busy.

there were three or four items we didn't purchase at the show --
Helmet for me
Pants for my best riding partner
Glove for me, because I am a glive enthusiast and havn't bought any glove in, oh, weeks, now . . . . . . . . .
The lack of deep discounting and the added tax meant that I could do better at local dealerships or over the intertubes, and, therefor, will . . . . . .
I was surprised at the crowd on Saturday morning -- more folks than I woulda thought . . . . .

Hey mr Bomber sorry to have missed you Saturday, I was working at the club information booth inside the main entrance. No kidding about the numbers of folks out for the show, I must have talked to 700 people between Friday and Saturday.

It was pretty zoo-like -- I'll remember my resolution to attend on Friday nights in the future ;-}
I did meet Razors, but, as I often do, pulled a blank -- seeing him without any gear on made him tough for me to ID -- I'm blaming the late 60s for this . . . .

I bought a couple things at the Lockitt booth. The Xena XR1 Disclock Alarm and The Safeman Tectory Lock
. Now I can get the alarm discount with the insurance company and lock my helmet and jacket to the bike
. The Xena was 69.99 marked down to 49.99 and the Safeman was 19.99. And no sales tax when paying cash

I bought an IPASS holder from JJCyclepass. I got the cruiser one because I thought I could put it over my handlebars. Sadly, it won't fit on them because of their geometry. I need to get the insert for the sport-bike model and put it on my mirror. We also figured out where one could go on Nate's bike, so I will be purchasing a 2nd one from them.

I bought nothing at the show but the weekend was a big drain on the wallet. Beer is expensive in Chicago.
