I bought a Kawasaki KZ 1000P a few months back, Since then a neighbor has helped me change most everything you can change to make this bike almost new, including a full paint job. I'll supply a list below.
The P designates this as a police special. I didn't know that until after I bought it. I also didn't know the whole thing is built heavy duty. I found this out from some guys I have met since I got involved in rebuilding this bike. They are telling me it should get around 50 miles to the gallon which will make pretty cheap transportation back and forth to work. From everything I've seen on the internet, this is a GREAT value for the money. This won't last long at this price so if you are interested, you'd better step up quick!
 It has;
 1. New front tire
 2. New back tire
 3. New brake rotors in the front
 4. New brake rotor in the back
 5. New brake pads in the front
 6. New brake pads in the back
 7. New spark plugs
 8. New clutch cable
 9. New handle bar grips
 10. New storage trunk
 11. New paint job
 12. New wind shield
I'm asking $7,900.00 for this beauty.
My name is Cliff and my number is 602-763-8440 if I don't answer leave a message and I'll call as soon as I can.'

If I make a list of bikes I could buy for $7900, the kz1000 doesn't even make the top 100.

It's fully pimped. Which apparently means just throwing on an old pair of saddle bags.

Did you notice that it ACTUALLY has 4800 miles. The guy doesn't know that the 900 is the trip meter!

Is it just me or is this idea just plain idiotic?

http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/3002296016.html

"I have a near perfect condition 2009 Kawasaki ZX 14 special edition (orange and black) that I'm wanting to trade to a fellow rider for their luxury car for a 4 or 5 day weekend trip from June 7th - 11th. Your car will be driven mostly highway miles with a husband and wife and two kids. It will be treated very well as I expect the bike to have the same respect. Of course I expect you to rip the throttle. This bike is made for that and I expect you to have fun. I would like you to be a responsible person with similar family situations. And I also want someone that's been riding for quite a few yrs, as this bike is NOT for any inexperienced rider. I want a fellow rider who has good experience with liter sized bikes or bigger, not counting cruisers. I've ridden 1500+ cc cruisers and my 600 sportbike pulled harder. No disrespect, but I don't want to loan it out to someone who's not going to understand what happens when you WOT this thing. If you want to talk about this kind of a deal, let me know. The bike is also for sale at $9000."

Yeah, I sent him and email:

"Just thought I'd let you know your bike has 4880 miles on it. The "900" is your trip meter. Also you can buy a brand new Rebel for $4,000.  Good luck with the sale."

I have a 2005 Kawasaki ninja for sale. The price is a little high but I bought it a month ago from cycle wise and still have a loan in it its got 3k on it very low miles the turn signal needs a mount that's thirty dollars at daily rider other than that the bike runs like a top call me @ 8027779910

______________________________

Yeah the price is high and it needs repairs, but I still owe on the loan so that's okay, right? Right?!?

http://burlington.craigslist.org/mcy/3000902183.html

VTFB

KBB pegs it at $1100.

$4200 for a 2012 model.

Quote

I will call my nephew to come over to my place, and I will give it to him. He went through a nasty divorce, and his ex pretty well cleaned him out. I will get great satisfaction knowing I pissed off his snot-bitch ex, as he sold his bike before the divorce because she didn't like him riding, and would never ride with him. Having the memory of getting under her vile skin will probably be worth as much to me as socking another $4900 away in the bank.
