Oh Ken!  I can't believe you JUST discovered Nutella.  It used to be something I so looked forward to every time we went to Germany when I was a kid.  nom nom nom  I personally have a weakness for it on butter cookies.

I hadn't thought of Nutella for a long time.  Now the craving has set in, nobody sells it in our town, and the nearest WalMart is 110 miles down the road.  Guess I'll just make some chocolate peanut butter and tough it out until the next trip to the city.  Bet that's almost as good as Nutella on crepes.  We'll find out tonight at dinner.

I started working on the chocolate PB recipe after one night having a nutella craving but not feeling like going to the store.

I think I forgot to mention that sometimes I add honey as well.  It's really good, and a nice substitute for Nutella since I got a bunch of PB at 50 cents a jar.  Bigsmile

No, it was only peanut paste that was recalled.  Skippy was never part of the recall, and I have made my stomach upset from eating too much but no salmonella. Yes I have a sensitive stomach and PB is high in fat.  Chocolate PB is completely irresistible so I try not to make it lest bad things happen.  Razz

While grocery shopping at my local Kroger today, I spotted Kroger's store brand version of Nutella.  It's equally as good and less expensive.  Excuse me as I enjoy another spoonfull.   Drool

Serious request.  Would you mind listing the ingredients from the Kroger's brand?
Thanks.

I forget the IQ here is above that of the general population.  I am serious, every single time I bought the cheap PB (6 at a time) at least one person in the store told me I was going to die.  It got annoying.   Razz

Bastards.  I'd have never tried this Nutella had it not been for the hucksters here.  Now I've got something else to pack on the fat with.   Twofinger

Re:  Chocolate Peanut Butter.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM good!  A chocolate peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich is soooooo tasty.  Now to try a CPB and honey sandwich, or a CPB and banana sandwich, or, or, or . . .

Thanks CS.  Great recipe.
