Where to get SAE connectors?

Does anyone know of any store that would stock these? Or do I have to order them over the 'net? I'm looking for the two connector similar to the battery tender.

If you really want to look local, maybe a good marina.  I think that kind of plug is most likely to show up on boat trailers.  Just a guess, though.

Hardware and auto parts stores sell them 2-pin trailer hookups. They are usually not hard to find.

Bass Pro Shops (or some other boating/fishing store) sometimes have a lot of electrical connectors and sockets (for boats). For my old bike, I got a couple of waterproof 12v sockets there. If there's one near you...

Just go out and buy one that connects to the battery with the ring terminals at the other end. They're available at your local motorcycle dealer for well under $10.

I've never seen SAE connectors (the actual connector by itself) that you wire up yourself; they're usually molded and part of a wiring harness.

This is what I always buy...unplug the module and you have an SAE connector...

Also check out RV stores.  I use the fused one like Global Rider shows for on the bike.  The ones that are just the plug and a foot of wire run $1-2 each.

Not AutoZone or my local Radio Shack. Looked/asked for them today. All I got from the sales help was a   look.

  Hmmm, I have bought them at Radio Shack, and Advance Auto.  Advance is half the price of Radio Shack. Hard to believe AutoZone doesn't have them. Its a pretty common connector.

Last time the kid behind the counter didn't know what I was talking about.  I found with the trailer wiring stuff.  Didn't have single pieces, so I just bought the package of two trailer light links, and cut one in half.  Soldered the wires to where I wanted them for my GPS.

That is one of the things I was going make, as well as a harness for my GPS, and 12v air pump.

  I've bought them at Wal Mart, Iron pony has them with the battery tender stuff with the loops, and fuse. I think they are 5 or six bucks.

Still no joy! Trailer place- will order them. West Marine-never heard of them, why not cut down a 4 pin? Autozone- Radio Shack, maybe on Thursday, but call first. NAPA -

Found them! Finally! At Terminal Supply Company, which is right down the street from me. Six for $6.00. This place has everything, supplier for OEMs, and more. They sell online too, I believe.

I had an exceptionally hard time finding any two-pin SAE connectors here in San DIego.  None of the big chain auto places had them (Pep Boys, Kragen/O'Reilly, Autozone, NAPA).  If they had SAE connectors at all they were the four or six pin versions.
None of the marine places I went to stocked them either (WEST Marine, Boat/US).

Not even Radio Shack carried them!  I was getting quite frustrated, so I figured I should ask somebody who might know.  The parts counter guy at the local BMW dealer asked "You mean like these?" and pointed to a display that had tons of the damned things...

Holy old thread Batman! I found them at a place called Terminal Supply Company in Troy, Michigan. Right by where I worked, and we bought stuff from them to do preliminary work on electric vehicles. Doh. They were like $1 apiece, not the $7.99 RS wanted for them if they ordered them.

At Eastern Beaver http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/connectors.html.  He's in Japan and, as I remember, low dollar orders have a crazy-high shipping cost.  He's got lots of cool stuff that I can tell myself I'll use someday.  I put together an order this spring including an SAE to lighter cable, an SAE "Y" cable, and several SAE extension cables that I then cut in half to install on the bikes.  (I also picked a few SAE caps but I didn't see CB's thread until after he was taken care of.)

A new Ace hardware opened near me a while back and they had a full Battery Tender display that had all sorts of SAE cables.

When I was looking for SAE connectors, Radio Shack was less than helpful.  But I showed them, I bought AAA batteries and gave them the wrong zip code.
