One Piece Suits - New kid on the block for ~$250
«
on:
March 13, 2009, 06:39:11 AM »
Just came across what looks like a start-up company jumping into the one-piece suit market.
http://teizms.com/
$250-289 depending on model. Obviously untested as yet, but the video looks intriguing and their PR guys seems to be very responsive. As I'm in the market for a new suit this spring, I figured I'd pass this along for what its worth. Not sure if anyone out there is big on experimenting with new gear, but hey, its probably not quite as bad as testing experimental parachutes...
Sarc
PS
I have no involvement in any way shape or form with them, just passing along something I stumbled across while doing everything and anything but my work

Hmmm....I see a lot of positives in this suit. One thing I see a lot of on this suit that other suits only use somewhat sparingly is reflective material. I also like the fact that it comes with cinch straps on arms and legs to ensure armor stays where it needs to be.

• Several pockets including a clear map pocket on the left thigh and toll-change pockets on the left arm.
• Waterproof zippers on most pockets and all vents
• 12 Vents
• Stretch material on the knees, elbows and back

• Internal double stitching
• Foam padded seat
• Removable CE approved shoulder protectors
• Removable CE approved knee protectors
• Removable CE approved back protector
• Removable CE approved elbow protectors
• Removable shin protectors
• Cordura 1680D material in all high impact areas
• Knee sliders with large patch for ideal placement
Fit, Adjustment & Comfort:
• Grip material in the seat area
• Velcro adjustment tab behind shin
• Velcro adjustment belt around the waist
• Adjustment buttons on each arm at around the bicep and wrist
• Zip-out sleeve length adjustment
• Ellipse on the back
• Ellipse on the elbows
• Ellipse on the knees
• Soft lining on the collar
• Velcro neck adjustment
• Full length front zipper with Velcro cover
• Velcro adjustable cuffs
• Separate entry zip for right leg
• Strategically designed Velcro flaps to make it easy to open them with gloves on
• Pull tabs for each zip to make it easy to open them with gloves on
• Anatomically fitted for the riding position
Ventilation:
• Two rear vents on the back
• Shoulder vents
• Two front vents on the chest
• Under-arm vents
• Vent on upper bicep on each arm
• Vent on each leg
Pockets & Storage:
• Rear Camelbak/Hydrapak pocket with exit slot for drinking tube and mesh base for drainage

• Waterproof rear storage pocket that covers entire length of the back
• Waterproof thigh pockets that cover entire length of the thigh on each leg
• Clear map pocket on left thigh
• Clear pocket on left arm
• Three pockets for toll-change
• Pocket on right arm
• Pen slot on right arm

You can buy two suits for $499 which is a pretty good deal if (and that's a big if) the quality is there.

It was in the ADV rider thread. It means that if you wear gear that fits you and that you're comfortable with you will be more comfortable riding. Therefore you will also ride faster.

Um yeah...if I wanted to wear gear that had semi-incomprehensible English phrases emblazoned on it, I would wear these Japanese jackets. No thanks, Tiez.

Hi folks. This is Ghazi from Teiz Motorsports. I can answer your questions on this forums as well. You will probably seee answers to most of the questions above on the adv thread though.
When the return policy says unworn, it means that not used for riding. You obviously have to try it on for checking if it fits.
Thanks

Saw the specs online. Not waterproof. Zippers are not waterproof. Mentions to pack a rain suit if riding in rain..
Warranty is for 6 months within their guidelines. Which are not defined:
Quote
Warranty Policy
Teiz has the right to repair or replace, at our option, any product
we feel does not meet our standards
up to six months from the date of purchase. If you feel you have a warranty issue, you MUST contact us to obtain a RMA, Return Merchandise Authorization, number prior to submission. When submitting items for warranty inspection, please be sure the item is clean and free of debris, etc. The shipping charges to Teiz are the responsibility of the customer and Teiz will in turn ship the return item to you at no additional cost.
It seems that this MAY be an ok suit for a short commute to work over work clothes. It also seems you get what you pay for.

The suit is waterproof but not 100%. The tecnology is same as other suits being advertised as 100% (all use a waterproof) liner but ours does have some modifications. Please our waterproofing page
www.teizms.com/waterproof
The front zippers are not waterproof on any other suit in the market (except revit)
The warranty is pretty typical of the motorcycle apparel industry.
Thanks

The suit is waterproof but not 100%.
Is that kinda like "sort of a virgin"?

at least they are not falsely advertising 100% waterproof when they know it isn't when some manufactures state their suits are 100% waterproof when they are not. good for them for being up front about it.

they are either waterproof, or they're not..
You could look at this two ways:
1/ They are being upfront and honest by stating they are not fully waterproof.
or:
b/ The suits leak like a sieve and as they have alluded to this on their website, any warranty claims re. leakage can be refused on such grounds.
