Palisades is probably more to the ST.N style.  Cool

Palisades - IN - they can accommodate that crowd easily in one room and have experience doing it - the food is pretty good there, prices are reasonable (dinner + 1 beer for $15-$25), parking is easy and somewhat contained (bikes are quite so open to casual idiots in cars), selection is good. Burgers, some pasta and seafood, sandwiches, mixed drinks at the bar, beer, ... lots of advantages and my favorite since the Gunnisack is out. LOW DEPOSIT or maybe none. I talked with the manager/bartender and he seem cool and competent.

One other possibility - Trough Restaurant - 1 miles W of Gunnison, steak, prime rib, some seafood and wild game, excellent salads, very good to excellent food, somewhat contained parking, HOWEVER cost of dinner + 1 beer would be $22.5 to $35 or so. If there is interest I will go see them. What do you think?
The Palisades was on my list,Its like a mile to it from the INN,correct? The only reason I was looking at the others first was the walking distance hope, but hey we gotta do what we gotta do Bigok besides them having  experiance with groups is good

I will measure distance from the Gunnison Inn, but it's more likely about 2/3 of a mile.

I'll posted highlights of the Palisades menu this evening.

Only problem with Palisades is that it is likely to be slow with so many people arriving at once. But they have a decent selection of appetizers, which should stave of hunger till the main course.

Based on my experience with the Nationals and STNers, this one sounds perfect. Someone will always grumble about something ("they don't have fondue!"  Rolleyes ) but I give it  Thumbsup Thumbsup

palisades menu highlights
===================
appetizers
----------
jalapeno poppers, buffalo wings, chicken tenders, quesadilla, chips & salsa, mozzarella sticks, shrimp cocktail

salads and soups
----------------
cajun gumbo, chil, chef salad, seafood salad, caesar salad, taco salad, mandarin chicken salad, fried chicken salad

sandwiches
-----------
burgers, tuna melt, hot ham & cheddar, turkey & swiss, french dip,, blt, reuben, buffalo burgers, pesto chicken breast, others

entrees
-------
shrimp platter, fish & chips, chicken strips, prime rib ($18-27), rib eye steak, new york steak, flat iron steak, tenderloin steak, ground angus steak, steak and shrimp, chicken friend steak, chic, porkloin, mesquite chicken, chicken milano, atlantic salmon

pastas
------
grilled chicken fettuccine, seafood pasta, pasta primavera

sides
-----
bread, fries, onion rings, cottage cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, mashed potatoes & graves, garlic bread

drinks
-----
various soda, beer (coor lite, miller lite, newcastle, guiness, shiner bock, bridgeport IPA, fat tire), milk, root beer, tea

I think the food is pretty good - not fabulous but pretty good.

A burger costs $7, prime rib $18 and up, chicken fried steak $11.95.

I think the average dinner, with 1 beer, would total about $13, less if you get a coke, but you could spend $35 if you got the biggest prime rib and had a couple of beers.

The restaurant also has a bar. There is no taxi service in gunnison so you'd better plan on walking or having a ride home if you have a bit too much.

You might want to work with them to limit their menu for that night - select a few items for everyone to choose from so they're not completely overwhelmed by the STN onslaught. Embarassment

I have a contact from another moto group that met in Gunnison a few years ago. He says that FB Catering   (John Guerrerie 970-641-0644) treated them right. Seems like it might have been a bigger group though. I guess they rented some space eat the fairgrounds or something.
