I'm tempted to give you -1 rep points out of envy alone.

Sweet bike, congrats!

That's some incredible scenery.

And having seen all 3 colors up close, I've decided I'm going for the pearl white when I get an MTS1200 next year.  The black didn't really work for me the way I thought it would.

I know!  Smile

It came in on trade with less than 400 miles, and I got a pretty good deal.  My dealer made me borrow and ride it until I bought it!   Honest to God, I kept telling myself, "But I love my shiny new Hypermotard!" over and over, but it just didn't make sense to wait until next year!   Lol

But this is why the Hyper is now sort of redundant.  As I'm consolidating down to two bikes, I want something other than this for racking up stupid interstate miles.  The Multi will be for fun and for local multiday rides that don't involve excessive mileage.  Or that's what I'm telling myself now anyway.  Wink

Incidentally, it feels a lot like my 1098 but without the miserable-for-all-day-riding ergos.  It's a freaking awesome machine!

Are you kidding me!?  Congrats on the new ride.  Did you sell the Hyper?

Here's mine. Just got back from a 1,000 mile trip through the ozarks. The bike exceeded my expectations!

Just picked this up, 2006 model year. What a phenomonal machine. More to come after additional saddle time but this is a seriously impressive bike. Could possibly be my favorite motorcycle to date. Light, powerful, deceptively fast, handles great, very stingy with the fuel, best seat i've ever had, well maintained and great wind protection. A very fun engine and powerband. I still have my C14 but wanted something a litttle less overkill for weekends, warmer weather and overnighters when not two up. I sold my Tiger SE to a gentleman in Delaware. I was ready to try something different.

My biggest problem is going to be how to keep the miles accumulation somewhat reasonable. You feel like you could ride forever on this bike.

Wow, Jack - Nice ST3!  I tested one of those a few years ago and it remains one of the favorite bikes I've ever ridden.

Glad to hear you were able to move the Tiger - did you keep your 848?

Thanks guys. Falconati - Your review helped me decide on the ST3. Good write up. Thumbsup Those detailed reviews come in handy when you least expect it. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

I test rode the ST4 but favored the ST3 powerband. With having the 848, the lower torque and better mid-range simply made more sense for me in this type of bike.

Alex - I still have the 848, the rex, klr and c14.

Oilhed - sent you a PM with my email addy. Sorry to hear your St3 is gone... Sad

Hey, not a problem - glad it was useful!  So far, was my assessment accurate?  Anything that I should have added or anything you disagree with?  Just curious to see how my perceptions hold up against others' opinions!

Any of you guys with a red STx been haunting Route 50 in Maryland near the Bay Bridge lately? I think I've come across you at least twice since Friday. Saw the bike headed E/B Friday night towards the Kent Narrows bridge, and again this morning headed W/B near the Bay Bridge geared up and riding with another S-T motorcyclist.

I think the tag read "ADDIO" when I saw it Friday?

<-Not a stalker, just excited to see another Ducati around those parts.
