Listened to and watched it out my office window as it (and Cablebandit) zoomed out of my work parking lot bound for parts unknown. I think I'm coming down with anal glaucoma soon.

Just a busted metatarsal (uncomfortable and inconvenient) from the TW falling on it after a stupid 8mph highside in my own parking lot on Tuesday night after work when the ridiculously stretchy OEM chain jumped the sprocket and bound around the rear hub.  Mad2 (If the Yamaha shop hadn't ordered an o-ring chain that was almost eight inches too short I wouldn't have had to settle for another worthless rubber Yama-chain.)

Sweet Fancy Randy! Glad that's all! Why is it that the low-speed (or stopped) incidents and/or the most minor but usually highly inconvenient injuries are the most infuriating?!?

I went through 3 chains on my TW before the Kawasaki dealer told me about o-ring chains. I was just a crazy teenager that kept buying OEM up to that point.  Rolleyes

My local Yamaha dealer just kept selling me those rubber bands.

Yesterday while out riding i stopped to take a pic for the wild card photo tag when i went to hit the starter and all i herd was the starter relay and nothing else. I bumped started it to get home.

Today's project was to find out what was wrong. after some testing it looked like a bad connection on the starter or the starter itself.

Just to get to the starter i had to take off the Tupperware, air box, throttle body's, and then take off the left engine cover then i was able to get out the starter. cleaned off the starter cable connector and then took a file to the engine case and starter base. also cleaned the negative connection to the engine case.

Took it for a 20 mile test ride and so far so good.

I threw on a Holeshot flyscreen and mirrors, then hit the highway for a 55mi break-in.  Thumbsup

Changed the rear brake pads and brake fluid. Washed it to remove any hiding brake fluid.

Rode it!  I scrubbed in the new set of Bridgestones 023's, tested the new-to-me gerbings liner and tried the new suspension bits.  I'll get the suspension dialed in before spring but so far,  Thumbsup Thumbsup to all upgrades!

Not today, exactly, but put on a pair of Denali D2 lights.  Needed some tech help to get wiring right, but they are now working great.

I missed this totally. Sorry to hear that man that sucks. Heal up quick.........a chain thrown fucked ya all up??

I hate to say it but I use to have that in the back of my head all the time with a chain drive. I like my shaftie, probably always will. Was that a TW200 you're talking about?

Yeah, I've had twenty five years of shafties myself.
Keeping a proper metal chain on the sprockets is easy, unfortunately the stock Yama-chain is made of recycled gummi bears.
Other than that the TW is an excellent no-freeway* urban commuter.





*It'll do 75 if you have a long straight and plenty of time, it likes to be revved.
