New front stoppers
Leaving that wrench on there is not going to end well.

Replaced the headlamp (bulb only), replaced a couple washers, cleaned some wire contacts, replaced screws, and...
conducted an 80mph roadspeed test with and without the fly screen. I-35 S had 30-40mph head/diagonal semi-cross winds. 30min south then 30min north both with and without the fly screen.
Results WITH the fly screen: the focus of the blast was brutal with the headwind and semi-cross wind at 80mph. The dead space was so dramatic right above the tank that the turbulence created by the focused blast swirled around at my chin level, attempting to lift the Shoei off my head. The helmet buffeting gave me immediate neck pain above the 70mph mark and was unbearable at 80mph. (I completely understand that the headwind was a HUGE factor here...but I live in MO and ride in the midwest. Crazy wind is normal.)
Results WITHOUT the fly screen: The wind blast did hit me in the chest and shoulders, BUT, it was so evenly distributed that it was comfortable until the wind gusting threw me around. The steady wind had an even disbursement that was far more comfortable than the focus of the blast (with fly screen).
I love the look of the fly screen and the feel below 65mph. Anything faster than that and it actually causes problems. Therefore, my next big project will be to rig a fast-fitting or snap on kind of attachment for the fly screen, rather than having to undo two bolts, two screws and most of the headlamp housing. This way, if I know I'm going to hit the highway, I can just snap that puppy off and strap it on the seat behind me with the web.

2nd day of beginning to work through a new to me Aprilia RS250 which had not been run in 5 years.
Yesterday it was new battery day, and remove and drain the gas tank. Today it was lube all the cables, inspect the air filter, inspect the carbs, change the coolant and change the plugs. Loaded the bike up and took it to the tuner for a carb clean, and dyno tune.
Once it comes back, it will be on to flushing the brakes, and installing the street parts so it can be plated.

Finally managed to get an old but good stainless bar end weight, to replace the mild steel and very rusty new one that Triumph sent me.

A friend bought my 01 YZ250. Since It has been siting for 7 years i told him I'll freshen up the motor so i got it out of the frame tonight.
Which is a good thing because i found this little problem.

Well, I was stupid enough to leave my keys in the ignition and in the ON position during a two-hour shoot today, draining the battery. Thankfully it was still THERE when I walked outside.
The downhill, pop the clutch didn't work because I couldn't get enough speed. Thankfully a friend drove by and had jumper cables. Obviously I
needed
a good hour long leisure ride to charge the battery...

Ordered a DAM exhaust and some luggage.... can't wait for that to show up so this thing sounds like a motorcycle instead of an irate lawn mower and I can stop bungee-ing weird crap to the seat.
Torqued up all the fastener bits... took steps to ensure soft paint will be able to survive gut-rub.
Promised the cycle that she is, in fact, the only thing my ass will touch. She didn't believe me so I sold the truck.
She believes me now.
All my friends think I'm insane for being a "bike only" owner...

Cleaned out the rear pre-load adjuster on the pic. A winter's worth of crud had it locked up tight.
