That rear tire in the package?  Received today from SWMoto tires.  8 days after ordering.  Still no sign of the front tire.

They've really gone downhill since being sold.

$349 and I'll be back in business.

I ordered a replacement shift rod, a Zero Gravity windscreen, new frame sliders (w/ new bolts), and a new Woodcraft stator cover.  Given the speed of the low side, I can live with that.

Seems like a bargain to me. Throw in some Dynabeads and you won't even have to dig the grass out of the front tire.

 Lol

I think I'll remove the tire, clean everything out, and remount.

Also, I sent away some pictures to a guy nearby for a quote to repaint the bike.  I'm going for the Yosh Suzuki WSB theme.

upgraded x-ring chain, new sprockets dropping my RPM a little on the top end.  Results: stellar.  Better gas mileage, improved handling and smoother rides on both the commutes and the highway, fitting my riding style wonderfully.

Installed the Race Tech valve kit & Ohlins springs in the Vulcan forks starting last night, finishing up this morning.  Front is definitely more lively, with lots less dive on braking.  Overall I think I like it, but I need to do an all-day ride tomorrow to be sure.

Installed an Ohlins shock on the Vulcan 2000.

Wondering whether the Ohlins fork springs I've just ordered will be tall to work with the gold valve cartridge emulators I got in the mail today....  Bedtime.

Oh, pops, so sorry about the continued travail.  Sad  Perhaps a cheap smaller bike can replace it for riding?

Most attention has gone to Torquemada (da Buell) of late, so today I got the Strom out from the back of the garage and readied for a ride tomorrow (hopefully). Despite my cleaning and lubing the chain before putting it away, it has serious surface rust.  Bash I've now cleaned it as best I can, but I'm wondering if its life will be shortened.

The Strom has had an occasional gas drip upon starting, very sporadic. Today there was serious drippage; from up by the throttle body on the front cylinder as near as I can see.  Hmmmm.

Not my bike (my old bike)

THe current owner of my old ZX11d came by yesterday for some long overdue maintenance.
We pulled the forks, dissembled & cleaned parts (oil was like chunky peanut butter real thick and chunky) filled with 5wt.
Replaced front pads, flushed brake fluid.
Replaced plugs, synced throttles (wanted to do valves but he forgot all the extra shims so no sense)
Cleaned up some wiring issues.
Adjusted chain, after 50k I think this is the second adjustment EEK! That Pro-Oiler is really paying off.
Replaced rear turn signal lenses (cheap china aka=flea-bay  clear one fell apart) Lucky I still had the stock leases.
A few minor adj to forks & rear shock & a test ride
Went foe a "test ride" She rides great again Bigok
I forgot the rush of WFO to redline on 1st through 3rd EEK! defiantly into the WAY TOO FAST ZONE!!!! Now I remember why I gave my friend the bike.

I figure at the rate I use tires I'll have a spare if they don't cancel it.

Dug all the camping gear out of the bins and packed the saddlebags in preparation for Moonshine.  It's going to be a hectic week and my Thursday afternoon departure looms large.  Made my list, checked it twice and found it all.

I have a funeral to attend for one of my co-worker's grandma on Wednesday morning too.  RIP, Grandma Shorts.   Rose

Last week I bought these from member "Flip".

They arrived yesterday and my mind immediately went to work with what to do with them.

This morning I hit the shed (what's left of it) and dug this out
(Get the dirty hippie jokes out of the way now)

Pulled these off

Cut, weld, bend, grind and paint

This is at my neighbor Joe's (a real hippie) shop

Replaced H7 #4 (1off HID ordered), and added the MachineArtMoto cylinder head guards to hide where the RX7 hit me a couple of weeks ago. Hyperlights to come...
