Yesterday I rewired my GPS mount from switched power to always hot power.  I'm hoping it solves some of my white screen of death issues.

Filled up Jerry Lee's tank and wheelied to work.

I like this silly lil motorsickle.

Was it like being with a new woman?

This was my morning job.

I will now ride it like a hooligan.

Why yes, yes it was. A younger shinier version, though I really loved the 06...  Oh, and that looks like a permanent fix on that front tire.

The Versys got a ride home from the shop on my trailer. Then I installed the farkles that arrived while the starting issue was being resolved. (It ended up being just the battery.) From MotoWerk, the universal GPS mount plate, swingarm spools, and standard Flatfoot. Also, a set of PowerMadd hand guards went on easily once I stopped following the included instructions. I still have a red LED flashing light to install under the taillight for roadside emergencies. If I can get the Bluetooth driver to update in my old Garmin 2820, I'll permanently install that to the MotoWerk plate via the Ram Mount cradle.

Replaced the rubber plugs on the throttle bodes where the vacuum tubes go for the sync tool. Three of them were bad. I think that could of been the cause of my erratic idle. I guess I'll find out tomarrow.

Edit:  Looks like that was the problem. Idles smooth and doesn't have a hesitation when giving it the throttle.

Did the first oil change on the L1 GSXR 1000, also mounted up the Ventura luggage brackets. Put the new Anakee II's on the V-Strom, haven't been out on them yet, to busy riding and working on the new bike.

You should like the Anakee II's.  They're pretty much on par with the Tourance EXP's on the pavement and handle dirt roads a little better.

Flushed the front and rear brake systems, adjusted the chain, adjusted the flow rate of the Scottoiler for the warmer temps, replaced some tank bolts that had vibrated out between here and Wichita Falls, and gave it a wipe down.

What tires are you using on the ZRX? After racking up some miles I wired up a 12 volt cig. outlet on the L1 and mounted up a Ram mount for the GPS.It's getting tour ready!

Any reason why folks go with a cigarette plug instead of the more secure Powerlet?

I did the Powerlet thing a few times.  By not using a Powerlet product, I...

1. Don't have to drill holes in my bike.

2. Don't pay for an overpriced product.

3. Have something just as functional.

1. Don't have to drill holes in my bike.  Point taken, you can mount them without drilling these days

2. Don't pay for an overpriced product.  I figured this is probably the major reason

3. Have something just as functional.  My cig plugs shake out pretty frequently,  thats why I switched them over
