I gotta be honest, the old school S on the tank is a really nice touch.  Thumbsup

[reality check] Removed the aux fuel bottles and the Air Hawk. Cleaned, lubed and adjusted the chain. Time to shop for ANOTHER new rear tire. Trip over. [/reality check]

Not a dam thing, had to cover for one of my lead mechanics today Thumbsdown  OK so it was overtime Thumbsup

Packed all my riding gear needed to cross the country, wife will mail it out in the AM.

one week and 3 days till arrival on the right coast. Sure is tough planning upgrades/repairs on a bike you don't have.
Think I got them all covered but then again there is always the unexpected.

I bet I will have some thing to say about "what I did to the bike"  in about two weeks  Bigok

Sure would like to ride to work tomorrow, but the boots are in the mail. Might be tempted to go NotallATGATT

And unlike Conpilot I didn't strip the drain bolt.

I've wanted to try these (covertibars) out for awhile so when I came across a pair of them on Ebay for a good price I had to get 'em.
Photobucket
First here is a side shot of the bike with my previous clip-ons (cyclecat's).
Photobucket                                               A close up of the cylecat clip-ons.
Photobucket
A work in progress...
Photobucket
Side shot with the convertibars. I don't have all of the longer brake, clutch lines so this is about as much up/back as I can get for now. I think I'll trim the windshield and that will give me another couple inches of adjustment. We'll see...

The thread about 'check the air filter!' some weeks back reminded me that I needed to check the air filter.  Lol  This is after removing 5 large dead moths:

I'm going to install some window-screening at the front of the intake to reduce the number of large fauna.  Also am trying to track down a gas leak, think I've got it sussed but need to put the tank back on to check, and I managed to drop one of the airbox screws somewhere so a trip to the hardware store is needed first. Tightened throttle boots, re-routed some wiring. Trying to get the ol' hoss ready for a trip.

The bike is now street legal. I put the new plate on.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y25/jons/003.jpg

The original cam chain tensioner is supposed to be prone to failure, so I bought a newer model on ebay and put it on.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y25/jons/002.jpg

I also installed my new skid plate. I'll be breathing easier around rocks.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y25/jons/001.jpg

This reminds me of one of those sections in a bee hive. Smile

Pulled out the dead battery, charged it, load tested it, and reinstalled.

Hopefully it's still charged tomorrow morning.

Got the front end put back together a couple of weekends ago and had a new front put on last weekend. Just took it for a 100 mile shakedown ride. Headed for Taos first thing in the morning.
