I cut a tire width wide trench down my driveway. The side roads are breaking up where the sun hits them and I should get out for the first ride of the year tomorrow.

A few days ago I hacksawed and dremeled a plastic pipe nipple to mount my new video camera to my mirror stem. It looks pretty crude up close, but it seems sturdy. I am going to test it tomorrow along the scenic Turnagain Arm

I put a new regulator/rectifier on one of the bikes last night. The stock one hadn't failed, but the part does on most bikes of this model, so this was a preventative measure. Besides, the charging voltage at 5K RPM's was a bit low, and this had me worried that the part might be failing in the near future.

Also used Goo-gone to remove tar from the lowers of the bike. The smell of that solvent sure does linger!

Also ordered a Throttlemeister and Givi ST windscreeen for it from RL motorcycle

Ok, brief google search says Turnagain is somewhat Alaska like.  You seem somewhat secretive....are your running from the law? lol ... only reason "I" could figure a good reason to 'live' up there. The again, to each their own...many consider it crazy to live in LaLa Land.  Anycase, please post them vids from your new vid-cam set-up. I ran across this vid from Turnagain search. Is this in your backyard?..

Actually, Turnagain Arm is my Front Yard and Chugach National Forest [5.5M acres] is my Back Yard. Chugach State Park [.5M acres] is to the north and there is a ski lift a few blocks away to the south. But there is only one road. I am not running from the law, ( but I am careful to not shoot video of my speedo, either one.) . These are the radar mods that have evolved over the last few winters. The antennna is in the nose, the speaker was removed and a mono jack put in, and the autoswitch feeds a pre amp for the mono signal and a power relay for the mixer in my tank bag. It connects with a din plug. No more battery costs, yay.

34*F this morning. Fired up the TW to try out the homemade hack. Swung by and picked up the grandson (too little to reach the passenger pegs) for a country breakfast out. When we arrived at the Cowboy Cafe some cowboy made an offer for the hack I couldn't refuse. Unbolted it right there and tossed it in the back of his pickup. Now I have to build another.

Pretty good definition, leveredge. However, it puts to use a motorcycle in my garage that would otherwise die from neglect. When the time comes to return the motorcycle to the purposes intended for it, removing the hack only takes 5 minutes. Plus, it is the safest way to take my 3-year old grandson for a ride around town.

I don't mean any disrespect. I was trying to be cute. It's all good. Great way to take the kid along. I've been on slippery roads plenty of times when 3 wheel would be very much more appealing than 2.

No disrespect taken. A hack does ruin a bike. In some cases, hauling little kids, dogs, groceries, or riding on slick surfaces, the hacked bike has advantages. Actually, the TW does pretty good on ice all by itself. Especially so after a couple hundred screws make their ways into the knobs.

Over here, a hack is an elderly motorcycle used and abused to keep the main nike nice and clean. As in, "winter hack".
