I told it to be thankful it lives in Arizona where it isn't neglected for months at a time like so many other less fortunates seem to be.  And then I rode it to work after a too-short warm up period.

Sidecar.
"A device, when attached, ruins a perfectly good motorcycle!"

Thanks!  I'm still learning all this slang...  http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Vehicles-Scoot-Cycle/thPolice.gif

Ironically, here is a new listing on my local Craigslist of someone looking for a sidecar:

Well, i just had two new keys cut.  Lost my pannier key.  And thought I had also lost my spare.  thankfully, I put it in a place where it would never get lost...I just couldn't remember where it was.
Anyway, I found it had a couple of duplicates made things are good.
thanks for asking...

Rode in again this morning, mid 30's, supposed to be mid 50's this afternoon. My face got chilly  because I shaved off my beard, felt refreshing actually. I have another 300 miles to go before I do the 10k oil change, I bought an oil cooler awhile back so I'll install that at the same time. Supposed to be showers tomorrow but I'll ride in anyway.

Well, I was half right. I pulled out of the parking lot and did this instead:

I washed out the front end on some gravel, I'm okay but now I have to wait for a part for 1-2 weeks  Sad. Oh well, gives me time for some other stuff I guess.

That really sucks. That looks like a part that could be fabricated by a tool shop in about an hour...would probably end up being a stronger part also.

So, did the grandson have to trudge home through the snow or did you sell him to the nameless cowboy?

No snow here since last week. It's a small town and we often walk to the cafe. No big deal. We just walked to the shop and took the van and trailer to bring the bike home (the longer engine mount bolts to mount the hack were too long without the hack). I'm between orders right now and would be out riding on this pretty, sunny day except I'm waiting for material deliveries.

I did.

You mean the light guard and the stand? They're both available but the web site isn't very intuitive. You have to go to "Fitments", chose your brand, find your model and click "order now". You'll see everything listed there.

They're 2 different companies. That's Ventura's corporate site from New Zealand. Cycleventure is just the U.S. distributor for a couple of their product lines. You could probably order from the U.K. if you really wanted to. You could also give Cycleventure a call. They might be able to do a special order on something they don't normally stock.

Took the rear tire off the F800GS, wanted to put on a new knobbie, but I will need to come up with a method to break the bead.  Been messing, trying to use the center stand and other tools I could carry with me, but can't make them work.  I think I'll get C-clamp tomorrow.

David

Any one want a new C-clamp.  Got the sidestand trick to work.  As much fun as the rear tire was to change, I hope I don't have to do that out in BFE.  It really, really sucks.

60º degrees here so a friend and I rode from  Lincoln to Omaha to join up with the Ducati guys and then headed to the first Quaker State Motorcycle night in Council Bluffs.  Lots of Harleys, but the sport bike contingent is getting bigger and bigger.  Nice ride home with a full moon and the lights of beautiful Omaha to send us on our way.
