Larry, I'm glad to see you following the current racing scene instead of ancient history. Hopefully, Honda will win a race again someday*.

I believe that was 2 in a row for the wins. If we are talking Fontana.

A 1200cc liquid cooled overhead cam fuel injection v-twin beating 600cc bikes reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld. Kramer had taken up karate and was kicking butt. Everyone was impressed until they found out he was fighting 10 year olds.

A 1200cc liquid cooled overhead cam fuel injection v-twin beating 600cc bikes...
1125cc...
But yeah, as a Buell owner, I'm a bit embarrassed. One thing for a tricked-out, 2-valve, air-cooled 1350cc XBRR (which never did win) to race in that class, but the 1125R belongs in Superbike with the big boys.
That's where they race here in Canada.
I do note that Shawn Higbee races his 1125R in the AMA Superbike class, and in the last Fontana race he was able to move up from a 21st place start to 14th, before finishing in 15th...so yes, he did pass a few 1000cc I4s...
I wish Buell, and anyone racing them, all the best--but the optics just aren't that good when they win what is basically a 600 class (although, of course, some of those factory 600s are pretty trick, and I understand the Buells running that class are pretty close to stock...but still...).
One thing I don't understand, though...if it IS all the bike, why aren't Barnes and the other 1125R riders anywhere near the front? Aren't they on the same bike as Eslick?
Oh, and one more thing--I gotta say, the actual racing in that last Fontana race was pretty good, at least between the first four or five guys behind Eslick...they were changing lead several times per lap!

Funny thing is, when they weren't winning you weren't whining. Now they are and so are you. Give it a break. The rules are there to be observed and if you don't like it my suggestion is watch golf or water evaporate. You make it sound like they cheat. Each class of bike is allowed different concessions and the 600s are far from stock and about 35 lbs lighter to boot.

I disagree. Those 600's are very sharp race bikes with 20 years development. I think it is a fair fight.
The Japanese expect to win everything and complain when they don't.

Exactly. Remember this class was supposed to be hp limited with different minimum weights for different displacements. Early speculation said the GSXR750 and Ducati 848 would dominate under this formula. The Big 4 freaked and argued for changes/compromises that got us where we are today. Buell didn't make the rules. Some tracks will favor one configuration, some will favor another. All will favor good preparation and great riding. Much like WSBK.

The only bikes allowed were Moto Guzzi lol. Just pullin yer leg thar.
Domination is great if you are dominating but it's not great for the sport. If Buell dominates the class during an entire year I am sure the rules will be changed, and they should, after all who wants to watch a race that is predetermined.

The Japanese manufactures don't like any rules... but they only own the technology... they don't own the
race tracks or venues...
US market has always viewed Japan's rise in motorcycle dominance with suspicion ever since their big old
Motors of Death were beaten by the little up starts...

No. Before I wasn't paying any attention, and now I find this pot stirring amusing.
I mean, how many times can I reference that Seinfeld episode to motorcycle racing. C'mon!
