I have a Garmin Streetpilot 2820 hardwired to my FJR. I am using the GXM-30 XM receiver and have the audio hardwired into my audio system using the line out jack. I also use the bluetooth feature to sync the GPS with my cell phone and have a Scala Rider headset for use with the phone. The phone and headset are not synched to each is synched to the gps.

Now for the problem I am looking for a solution to. The audio works fine when the headset is turned off, but when I connect the bluetooth headset the audio mutes. Is there a way to still listen to the hardwired audio while the bluetooth headset is connected? I don't answer the phone while riding unless it is the wife, or work related call, but when the phone rings I have to rush to turn on the scala rider in order to answer.

Solutions?

I am guessing that the problem has to do with the BT link to the GPS and the hardwire. The BT is probably overiding the wired.

I would link the phone direct to the Scala and not through the GPS.

I assume you are using the MP3 wire to a Q2 headset?

I use a 2730 wired and my Q2 linked to my phone. It works fine.

I am routing all audio through an old Hondaline CB/intercom system. Similar to the J&m stuff. However, I took a different approach to my technical problem. I eliminated the Scala rider all together. I figured out which pins on the cb/intercom system were for the microphone that was already in the helmet for CB (J&M headset) and I spliced in a cable to those pins on the bike side, then simply hardwired the JM mic directly to the GPS. Now the only Bluetooth connection is from the phone to the gps and everything seems to work fine now.
