Thanks for the pics - don't see many ride reports featuring icebergs.  Nice FZ1 too.

Thanks, guys.

Here's a handful more shots from a recent dayride in the same area of the island, with a couple of my buddies...

That's awesome.

Newfoundland is on my bucket list of rides.  When you say "recent", when exactly did you take the trip and what kind of temps were you experiencing?

Those were all shot during my travels around the island during the past month. The 2008 FZ1 is new to me, so I've really been racking up the miles and enjoying it. Temperatures have ranged from around the freezing point, to the high 50s F.

The ice and icebergs are not indicative of the weather or temperature, as it all floats past here, after it has broken free of the Greenland Ice shelf, many hundreds of miles north of the island. If the wind is from the east, it blows in and gets trapped along our shores. If the wind swings around from the west, it can all disappear within a day.

I took these two photos 22 hours apart. Hard to believe, isn't it?...

And for the sake of the avid peg-scrapers, I should mention that we have some seriously 'Dr. Seuss' twisty roads up here, too...Bigsmile...

It just looks cold.

It was 80 degrees F in the middle of July, when I shot these photos of this iceberg at a little fishing village called 'Dunfield'. Some of the really big bergs get trapped in our bays and coves all summer long.

As you can see, this one was a whopper...
