Just made it to my Dad's house in Hillsboro, OR after some more tasty roads out of Colorado, some off-roading with Spectre, and then some of the shittiest weather I've seen coming through Western Utah.  This is the first time I've been able to connect to the interwebs.  I'm at 3500 miles now.  Resting, changing oil, cleaning air filter, sorting (and hopefully posting) some pics, and then pointing the C-10 towards Arizona on Friday.

Had a good time eating, meeting, drinking and BSing in Gunnison.  Looking through my pics, I have a lot of picks of the bikes but very few of people.  The sight of both parking areas of the Gunny Inn with wall-to-wall motorcyles was awesome.

Every day since I left home, I've been able to come around at least one corner to see something spectacular.  What a beautiful country!!

Julie & I got back to North Carolina Monday PM. We hit the Ozarks on the way back as heavy rains chased us off the twisties on the way out to CO. It was a 4400 mile round trip for us. The heat (95 degrees) just about killed us in TN on Sunday but a few secret backroad routes (given to us by a group of local TN HD riders) sent us to cooler temps and fantastic roads. That got us to a motel after dark but was worth the time.

Glad to meet everyone in Gunnison and we had a great time.

Charlie & Julie

Are we the only ones still on the road? We are currently in Fortuna CA after a day lay over in Santa Clara CA. I had to get new tires after fragging the Pilot Powers on the XX. We came up Hwy 280 to Hwy 1 and followed all the way up the coast with a side bar at Mt. Tamalpais. Awesome roads (350 miles of twisties) and great weather. I just finished a couple of ales off at the Eel River brewery. Tomorrow up the Oregon coast and on to McMinnville OR http://www.sprucegoose.org for the night.
Lots of pictures, which will be posted when I return.
So far this trip has been awesome. We've had some great adventures, all types of weather and meet some really interesting people. Even managed dinner with Dantes Dame and Bombauer.

Well I made it to my parents on Sunday to wish my father happy fathers days, stopped at home on Monday and cut the grass, but left once I was done and am now in northern Wisconsin.  Maybe I'll sleep in my own bed next week.

I've done that road. It is great! We bypassed it this trip and follwed the coast all the way up to Fortuna for the night.
We are in Mcminnville OR tonight. Hotels are like gold here. No beer, nothing within walking distance. The Evergreen museum better be cool. Oh BTW, Oregon so far sux. Hwy 101 coming up the coast was a construction nightmare. So bad we bailed on Hwy 38 and came up I-5. It took us one hour to go 28 miles, and we had to stop about 4 times for construction. We filtered to the front at each stop, and at one stop while doing this some asshat logging truck driver blew his horn and called me an asshole.  Rolleyes
We will be back home tomorrow. I can't wait to get out of western Oregon.

Aaaand just rolled in home, a couple of days earlier than expected, to a very energetic greeting from the puppies (OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD BEST DAY EVER).  GPS says 5326.6 miles in total and the rear tire certainly shows it.  Now for a delicious Alaskan ale.  Tomorrow I'll start hacking through the 3 gigs of pictures to upload and editing up the journal for public consumption.

Bad ass trip all in all, this was one for the history books.  Super cool to meet all you kids and ride such awesome roads.  Is it time for the next one yet?   Bigok

Damnit, and I was hoping to make it to this one.  Woulda been cool to meet you.

Next one... supposed to be in the Appalachians.   Should be able to top that 5326.6, no problem.

We are back today as well. Just under Reqs mileage at about 4500 miles. I didn't look tonight to verify. I came home to no cable tv or Internet. it seems the sprinkler installer guy hit the cable while running new sprinklers. Opps.

Bluepoof made it. She made 5-6 of them a year ago to hand out at the WCRM. I have one in my cupboard Smile

They were hand-etched by her and Peter, so I'm afraid that "ordering one" might be a little difficult  Wink

Cool,    I hadn't realized that I had a limited Edition.

Oh ya,  Still not home.  Hopefully sunday.   Shagged a tire and a chain,  but haven't burnt a drop of oil.

And I don't want to jinx myself by talking about rain. Rolleyes

Back last night,  8500 km.   Got to visit my son over the weekend, and took 3 easy days to get the last 500 miles in.

Closest we got to a cop was the "Chili" incident.
