New Tag:  *This is the southern approach to this trail. The northern approach on the "valley" road is at the end of a dirt road with no winter maintenance.  The tag sits on the paved state route at the southern end. |

Mmm, Christmas cookies. Thanks for the offer - a hot coffee would have been welcome - put me down for a maybe in Spring or mid-May, whichever arrives first.  I barely had time to hop off the bike and snap a picture. Had to be home in time for dinner. Homemade marinara sauce! Road report –Southside of Hawk Mt had a light early morning powder coating; it was untreated and I stuck to the speed limit for once. Northside was heavily salted & cindered and consequently a whole lot slipperier than the untreated side. Gold Mine & 125 were cindered in the corners. There are clean lines around but I wish the cagers could learn to hold a nice radius instead of driving off the shoulders. Took a left below Gowen City & found some really nice riding between there and the river; good clean pavement with some nice sweepers. SR 235 resembled a gravel road at higher elevations; 849 and 895 are still in decent shape for riding.  |
