Jeets - if you google some of these hints, like the name of the village on the sign (not Wind Gap) and clock tower you will find the tag. It was built in 1892, btw. Good luck.

Oh, I know exactly where that one is... mine was just a general statement. Mebbe I'll run up and grab that one tonight. I have a few ideas for additional tags.

...If I ever got a tag it's because I stumbled upon it by accident.
jeets
I know how you feel. I don't ever expect to be the first one to get to a tag.
What's great about this game is that getting the tag doesn't matter (at least not to me).
["It's not whether you win or lose; until you lose."]
You can have a great time just riding around trying to find the gosh darn thing.
It's a great excuse to ride somewhere; explore some new roads.
Heck, you might even meet up with some STN'rs.
We'll have to do that one of these weekends.
You know - I could grab this tag - just skip outta work this afternoon.
Ah heck, I'm too dedicated; sometimes it seems, to the wrong things.

That's really the whole point. The tag it self shouldn't matter. Go for a ride, take a picture and post it. It's not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

For those who like more info, here is the wiki. The tower has been a common site for travelers for over 100 years - it is situated alongside the northern end of Route 41 in Gap, PA. Route 41 continues South to end at Wilmingtown DE.
The Gap Town Clock, built in 1892, is a Lancaster County Historic Preservation Trust Site located in Gap. According to the Gap Clock Tower Association, "The clock's face, long telling the time to passing multitudes, overlooks, at the gap, William Penns' entrance into Conestoga, now Lancaster County, in 1701.

Today was the first time I had run 897 south of 23 and found out how great of a road it would be if it wasn't covered in white chalky crap that severely impedes traction. Anybody know what this crap is and why its all over the road??? At first I thought salt but theres no way it would not have washed off with all the rain we got in June. I was behind slow conservative driven cars the whole way south but after picking up the tag and heading north I was alone for a bit and picked up the pace...until the first corner when I felt my rear powerslide out at a heavy, but not extreme, lean angle with moderate throttle, something that has never happened with these tires. And no, it wasn't just smashed road apples, there's somethin slick on that road.

897 is a great ride. I don't remember seeing any white stuff on it 2 weeks ago, but I didn't take it very far north out of MD. There are any number of interesting little side cut-offs that you can take.

I was just on 897 from Shafferstown to Fivepointville, no chalky white stuff. I was on it from 322 to 30 on Saturday, I don't remember seeing it then either. Maybe they're getting ready to tar and chip??
Looking forward to the next tag!!

This one is a bit obscure, but if you've ridden past it you would definitely remember it, especially if you have good
karma
