Dealer owner says he anticipates first bikes to arrive in May.  But to me that sounds like he doesn't officially know yet and is just taking a guess.

WebBikeWorld has a preview up. Man, is it gorgeous...

Bertman

You and I have different definitions of the word gorgeous, because I think that bike is ugly as shit. Hurl I'm sure it'll be a fantastic bike to ride, but if I put down large amounts of cash to buy a Ducati (or any bike for that matter), I'd want to turn around for another look as I walk away from the bike when I park it. This bike doesn't do that for me. IMO of course.

Isn't funny.  Ironic.

On one hand we have a brand that has produced soooo many beautiful motorcycles.  Ducati.

On the other we have a brand that has been a leader in tech and innovation.  Honda.

Yet somehow Ducati has just one upped Honda for all there tech and gizmos.... yet they failed to make is beautiful!

The HARD part is getting ABS, Traction Control, fuel capacity, and ergos in a sub 500lbs ready ride package... for Ducati the EASY part should have been making it beautiful too.  I sure wish it looked more like the ST3s with the same specs, how hard could that have been?

Official pricing just in:

MTS 1200 standard model $14995
MTS 1200 standard model w/ ABS $16495
MTS 1200 Sport $19995
MTS 1200 Tourer $19995

The S version is about $1000 more than anticipated.

This is gonna hurt. Lol  Oh well, selling two bikes will alleviate some of the pain.

does each nostril just bolt on with a half-dozen screws? seems like it, so one could upgrade to the CF parts....and if that's the case, perhaps Ducati or the aftermarket will develop a replacement beak that is a bit shorter?

this bike is high on my lust-list. Red, Touring, add the CF parts later. The short Termi is sick. I love the 3/4 rear view. Don't love the beak, but it's no uglier than my GSA or KTM-SM, and combines the best attributes of both plus a 50hp boost over either.

Bring it on.

So judging from the angle of the rear shock, I wonder if removing the shock is necessary to do a valve check/adjustment like some of their SS bikes?

From this picture, I would say not.  You can clearly see that the upper shock eyelet bolt is in line with the top of the cylinder head/valve cover sealing surface.  On this engine, the valve cover comes straight off of the top of the head.  On the two valve engines, there were two covers, as we all know, one for each valve.  On the SS, the shock physically blocked access to that vertical exhaust valve.  Long story short, no shock removal appears to be required here.

Cheers!

You can just catch a glimpse of the top box towards the end of the white Multi vid.  Can't see much, but it looks sharp.  And roomy.

Termi #1 = full system
Termi #2 = slip on

I've also located the 12V sockets.  There's basically one on either side of the seat just to the rear end of the passenger bracket near the sub-frame.  You can just see the right side one in almost the dead center of the top edge of this photo.

Hmm. The location of the 12V power ports seems a bit odd given that they're said to be fused at 3A, which is considerably less than what my heated gear draws at full load.  12v x 3A = 36W -- not even enough to power my jacket by itself.   Headscratch

Also, staring at the photos closely got me looking at the foot pegs -- those are seriously beefy for Ducati pegs and even have removable rubber inserts.  They're really putting on a show about this bike being being offroad capable.

I'm starting to see the appeal of the full system -- no more ugly cow bladder collector.

Any guesses as to what that locking compartment is under the seat?
