Munich's homeless motorcycles.

During the fall, most motorcycles seem to steadily disappear from Munich's cityscape. However, on my way work I always see a number of bikes, some of which never move regardless of the time of year or inclement weather.
Of course, there are plenty of scooters that are considered simple tools with disposable character
This Tiger appears to actually be in pretty good shape, but is never even covered
A rusty SR500 that seems to be wasting away. I wonder if the thing is even worth €50.

A BMW C1, but it does look like it's a daily commuter
An older Honda Transalp. I actually wouldn't mind having one of these, but not necessarily this one with its quaint "original" paint job
MZ Baghiria that's seen better days

Here's the way to do it
My TDR mothballed in my garage. I keep my other bike, the CBR, in my company's heated underground parking garage.
My neighbor keeps his Suzuki behind his Audit TT
So, while putting your bikes to sleep in their comfortable abodes, please don't forget the spirit of the season and take a moment to think about those bikes less fortunate
Merry Christmas to my fellow Euro (and elsewhere of course) riders!

How does a caring individual, like myself, go about adopting a homeless Trans Alp?
I could give it a loving home in Arizona where it will never be cold again.
Someday, I would like to be Angelina Jolie of displaced motorcycles.

Merry Christmas, Ralf.
I drove up north on Christmas Eve, two days after an inch of snow had paralyzed London. They got it worse up north.
Anyway, as I was warm and snug in my hire car, I was passed by a couple of intrepid bikers. I thought the FJR has heated grips and a windscreen, maybe I should have tried the trip on the bike.
But, at the end of my snow-free trip up the A1/A52/A15/A17 I turned off to Heckington village and I was very glad, indeed, for the four wheels. Sheer ice for the last two miles. The FJR would have been on its side for sure.
It's much better off in its garage. I'm going to fire it up this week, just to make sure the battery is still alive. At least I won't have to brush the snow off.
Cheers!

Augustiner, oder?
Actually, it's a Low in brow or Löwenbräu. While Augustiner is probably Munich's best tasting beer, I easily get a headache from it, especially the Edelstoff. "At the end of the day," I'm simply a Pils man
Prosit!

Hi Ralf,
next weekend I will visit Munich and I'm thinking in rent a car for visiting Neuschwanstein, are the roads OK?
Could you give me some general recommendations (eating, places to visit...)?
Bye!!

Hi Gaw,
We´ve had a fair amount of snow so far and tomorrow it´s supposed to snow again, but the Bavarians are generally very good about cleaning their roads. Like practically every weekend , I´ll be in the Czech Republic next weekend - to see my wife and kids - but if you´re in Munich already on Thursday I´d be happy to buy you a beer.
